How about a check text messages feature?

We often get text messages from sims wanting to come over, go out, or invite us to hang out at their place.

I like this feature a lot, but I have a couple of issues.
The messages often disappear while I am thinking it over. I'm usually in the middle of something and I am considering their proposal, but, ZOINK! it's gone. And often the timing is just wrong. I would like to go, but not right now.

It is a text message and we should be able to check out text messages and decide if we want to do it when we want to do it.
There should be a chance that the sim no longer wants to meet if you take too long to get back to them, it would add some randomness.

So yeah, we should be able to look up the text messages we've had during the day, so we don't miss them, and we should be able to ask the sims would they like to go out, or whatever, at a time that we choose.

@ByondTime89 really? I had never noticed anything about the emotional texts getting a response.

I think you only get the response if the other Sim is able to invite you out, so if it's at a bad time for them, they won't text back.
  • i would like this, too. maybe even send a text with a photo. ;) then the sims would be able to exchange real photos with the "share photos" interaction.
  • This discussion is just what I needed! I thought I was the only one receiving texts just when my Sims are going to sleep or are busy with an achievement. Is there a way to check back on msgs received? That would be cool as well.

I would like the option to reply with a more relevant response. I drives me nuts when my Sims friends text to congratulate them or something and all they can say is "Ok"

Example: "I heard you and Liberty became friends! That's great!" Reply - "Ok"

Example: "I heard you and Travis got married! Congratulation!" Reply - "Ok"

Example: "I heard you got promoted! Congrats!" Reply - "Ok"

Just saying "Ok" seems so rude and makes me feel bad, so much so, that half the time I end up just clicking Cancel and consider it to be the "I'll wait and reply later" option >_< Just being able to say "Thanks" instead would be really nice >_>

Hahaha, I found this great. It's so awkward and yet so true.

Anyway, I agree. I really wish they improve their texting feature. It has a lot of room for improvement.
  • I hate when I sim asks my sim to go out to eat right as my sims are eating dinner, like, if you called a little bit earlier I would have said yes!
  • YES. I agree with all of the above, especially the original poster. Having to go RIGHT away is a very annoying game mechanic.
  • I really wish they'd stop being instant and give us an hour or two to prepare. I always accept the city ones like circus or opera because it gives me plenty of time to prepare.

I hate last second plans irl, so do my Sims.

    This!
  • Thought I was the only one wishing for better text.
I would really like to see a texting feature if your online. Hmm like if you were to add your irl friend online on your account, you could also text from your sims phone and type what you want to and your friend can reply back. In The Sims 3 me and my bff was texting through status using the online feature in game.
Can't the same be done for S4 but text wise? Would be awesome!
