- I love tiny and warm homes.
- I always start in a small one story home and work my way up to a large two story. I have yet to try playing in a large one story house :)
- Fanphoria7 years agoSeasoned AceI didn't vote, cause I don't really "build" anything. I usually start off with a one or two story home downloaded from the gallery. However, as the generations go on, I sometimes end up expanding quite a bit. Sometimes I move the kids out when they age up, but sometimes now, so when there's a full household I often end up building up, or down, or out from the initial build. One vampire family of mine has been on the same tiny lot for ages...but they now have three basements ;-P
- JSwartz01817 years agoSeasoned RookieIt really all depends on the build. Sometimes I do single story, others two, and even have three on one of my builds. Sometimes with basement, and sometimes without. If I had to pick one though, I'd say two, as it just allows the most out of the space available.

I usually like to build attics, although it is not very practical in sims 4.
Funny you mention that.... I literally just added a room to formally be one to one of my builds (it had the level to make the roof, but it was just that.... a roofing level), just to be a place to put the Seasons auto-decorations item thingy, as well as other items my family has, but was kept in their inventory, and yet they kept getting whims to buy the item again. The room is unaccessible, but it's there now! :) - I really only ever build giant 64x64 mansions or large gothic victorian manors, both of which are typically four floors including an attic for the servants quarters, and for the biggest mansion, I add a basement for laundry, servant kitchen, storage, pool, gym etc.
- Karababy527 years agoLegendMost are one story so I chose that option. I like tiny/small builds on the smallest lots for the coziness and ease of play. But, I do sometimes have a basement gym/storage area and/or occasionally a two-story build.
The most stories I've ever had in a build was the maximum allowed plus two basements. That was a special circumstances build though for my Apocalypse challenge save. The rules restrict building to an 8x8 area until a certain aspiration/career is completed. - sjofn777 years agoSeasoned VeteranI often have a basement to put random stuff in, like workout equipment and the way-too-big microscope and possibly a vampire lair, and then just one floor on top of that. I don't really like switching between floors that much, especially if I'm playing a big household.
- I usually do only two stories since I don't care to have my sims live in large houses as for why no basement I ways forget they are a thing until I have a sim who would benefit from having a basement like a secret lair or underground living for a vampire clan.
- Only one for me because I don't like the way the stairs don't have much dynamic in TS4 compared to older versions.
