I would love the SKILL JOURNAL back! Who is with me?

Why don't I recall this feature? I played Sims3 from release, too.

Me too!! I love skilling and i liked the extra bonuses that came along with it.

Personally? wouldn't mind having it back but also i don't think i did much of that in ts3 either so idk :sweat_smile:

I would really like it if there was some way to tell when ive painted every painting in the game though for example like theres collections i think skill made items we can make should be listed somewhere

I loved the skill challenges in Sims 3. I also liked the fact that completing each one unlocked a special ability of some sort; some of them were better than others, so I made sure to do those on all of my Sims if I could.

It's similar to aspirational gameplay (finishing every aspiration in the game, the way that I try to do), except that many aspiration reward traits kind of stink. Most of them just don't do anything at all, or do so little they're valueless. For instance, I absolutely hate getting the Hero of Strangerville reward trait; you'll start getting trash in the mail that's almost all spoiled cupcakes, which is absolutely not useful, but is vastly irritating to have to delete that trash all the time. And the reward traits from the two location aspirations - City Dweller, and the Komorebi one - are really completely valueless. Some of the reward traits are only useful if you're actually doing the aspiration; afterwards, they don't matter so much. Then again, reward traits like Naturalist from doing the gardening aspiration are VERY useful, so you never know.

So if they do add something like challenges, I hope they make the rewards meaningful, like they were in Sims 3. They haven't done that great of a job with reward traits in Sims 4, though, so I wouldn't have my hopes up too high.

I do like the way skills work in the Sims 3 and I really enjoy that sims can get benefits from still raising their skills after hitting the max level. I think it would be really nice if that could be the case in the Sims 4 also.

I myself never used this feature as there was so many features in Sims 3 that I have yet to use. :)

I used the skill journal all the time and loved it! Great for any skill, allowing you extra bonuses for completing the challenges.

Ah the charisma ones were amazing! My sim would literally say Sul sul once and the other sim was my best friend instantly. I’d love to have this feature back. I also remember doing the martial arts challenges so that I had a better chance of killing a mummy with a few Sims too.

I'd love to have the skill journal back. I have one sim who completed all the challenges.

I miss this feature from the Sims 3. It gives sims something more to work for after reaching level 10.
