Juniper's Rag To Riches Challenge

Juniper continued to work hard to complete her long term goal of becoming wealthy. She continued to build her skills and sell whatever she could collect. She purchased a plot of land and put up a tent.

Juniper, however, was lonely. She had no family or friends. She met Dan. They met a few times. They parted ways in part due to her embarrassment at living in a tent.

Juniper would sometimes go to the local nightclub. She would play the piano and earn tips. At first, she was paid to stop playing, but in time she improved and her tips increased.

There she met Loario. He was a mixologist. He would give her free food and drinks. They went on a few dates. He made her feel at ease. This was a new feeling for her as she was never good enough for her family. She confided in him that she was currently living in a tent, but was in the process of building a small house. Loario seemed understanding, but she felt ashamed the following day and began to avoid him. After all, who would want a girl who lived in a tent, a girl that was unwanted by her own family?

She quit going to the nightclub. She was unable to get a full time job. She was told she had no experience and besides it was difficult to keep her clothes clean without a washer and with all the collecting she did. She found a job as a lifeguard. It was part time, but that gave her the freedom to fish.

She was able to build a small, plain house, but she was proud of it. She was only able to have the bare necessities.

While out, she met Johnny. There was an immediate attraction. She pushed thoughts of Loario out of her mind or at least she tried to.

To her dismay, Juniper discovered that she was pregnant. At first, she was unhappy. She barely could support herself. She spent most of her time earning money or building her skills. She was exhausted. How would she raise a child?

Then she thought that having a baby would be the end of her being all alone. She would have a family. Someone to love and care for that would love her back. Juniper would make the best of the situation.

Johnny, however, was not pleased. He did not want to become a father. How could she do this to him? You helped she told him. He stormed off, leaving Juniper, as usual, alone.
