Mayhem Expansion Pack

Mayhem expansion pack!

This expansion pack is possibly for the more mature sim players that wish to add more spice to their game and that pushes that T rating a bit harder. This expansion adds more whimsy mayhem whether it’s unleashing a bad storm on the town such as a tornado! Or terrible wind storm or heavy rain/flood. That causes electrical power outages around town to actually destroying homes and community lots with weather warnings for sims to stay safe inside with more chance of being struck by lighting or picked up by a tornado.
You can choose when nasty weather occurs or set it on auto and see when it rarely happens.

Other mayhem includes sims breaking the law not only are their burglaries now, sims can now be in trouble with the law for dashing and dining, and be issued citations for littering. Mayhem also introduces a new event your sims can go too and introduces a new skill set. The skill is fighting, a sim with top body and top fighting skill is most likely to come out on top.

They now can sign up for fighting tournaments and receive a nice pay out as other sims in the crowd cheer them on at the event. But evil or mean sims can also use their skills to bully other sims but be careful picking fights with sims who don’t want to fight back could get your fighter sim arrested or citations. A sim who gets arrested it could be a rabbit hole where they are sent away for 1- 3 sim days depending on their crime. It will also affect their reputation or interactions with other sims if other sims find out their criminal past. Or you can toggle it off under game options.

There’s now more violent interactions such as an angry sim throwing a dish across the room or kicking another sim in the shin because they find out their lover has been cheating or whatever they’re angry about but throwing dishes or having a tantrum requires getting most sims to enraged. There’s now a harsher slap interaction as well, that may make another sim cry.

If a sim is angry when playing an instrument or tired of playing it, watch out because they might just decide to stomp on it breaking it in a tantrum. There’s a new trait too called the mayhem trait.

These sims can have tantrums over insignificant things and cause destruction in their path, their special trait makes them able to cause more mayhem successfully such as the ability to break almost any object in sight by simply kicking or stomping on it. And they don’t have to get enraged if they have the mayhem trait. Other sims are more likely to react a lot more negatively to all this mayhem they are more likely to call a friend autonomous when distressed about the mayhem their friend, lover or neighbor or teenager is causing them, or the town.

Gossip will spread faster as there is new reputations available, one being an upstanding citizen and the other being a rascal - a sim that causes destruction and trouble.

If a sim causes enough destruction word will get around faster and some sims will attempt to avoid the Rascal unless they are rascals themselves.

Teen - elder sims can now toilet paper another’s sims front door of their home or spray paint their home of a sim they don’t like.

A new interaction is a sim can attempt to embarrass a sim in front of others, such as teasing them publicly making other sims react with laughter or some of them looking mortified for the sim being teased. How a sim reacts negatively to something now will be more different depending on their personality.

Two new deaths are introduced, a tornado can catch a sim and if it picks them up they could die or end up in another part of town with smoke around them.

Another death is a supernatural one. Who said mayhem was only for the living? now there can be ghosts who died while angry can haunt another sim if disturbed and haunt a sim causing a sim to get so scared they pee themselves, or say a sim is looking in a mirror at themselves the angry or evil ghost can now pop up in the mirror making them scream at their own reflection.

If the ghost scares the sim enough it can cause a sim to die from fright. A sims that is terrified is more likely to die than one who is just scared. And only sims who died angry can do this or sims who were evil and had the evil trait or mayhem trait. Evil ghost sims love it though and are more ruthless and out to scare others, while sims who die when angry will just do it when they are angered from being disturbed.

I would want this expansion pack to push the envelope, and be more for the T Rated Community of players. While sims could be more violent towards another I would still want it in a cartoon looney tune fashion like it always has been in the sims. It’s not grand theft auto, it’s still the sims. But it would add edgier game play elements. The creators could warn about this expansion before it releases that they push its T rating a bit for players who want more dark whimsical humor. And for those players who miss those darker elements from past entries while also delivering new slapstick humor of its own.

I think this would be a good idea for an expansion pack because that way if players want their game more light and G rated how it is, they just don’t purchase this expansion pack. And it would still stay in T rated lines. I believe with everything I mentioned here the game could still be T rated. But this expansion would just add a more darker comical or dramatic element to the game when something bad happens. I personally think like seasons and growing together this expansion pack would be considered necessary for many players and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a top seller expansion.

And it would have to be an expansion because it would add depth and darker elements to everything in the base game, or at least it could. It could add more fears to the game as well since there are not many, and many fears could be age related stages such as a teen having a fear of being bullied at school by another sim. And elder having a fear of getting sick or losing a loved one to death.

Or a child’s fear of growing up. A bunch of new fears for adult and young adults as well, such as adult sims fearing death, fearing becoming an elder, not being able to pay bills, fear of a sim being mean to them, fear of a rascal sim, fear of fighting, some of them could be funny fears such as fear of elders or children, fear of angry or evil ghosts, fear of grilled cheese, fear of storms such as tornadoes, fear of crime, etc. this expansion pack is a perfect excuse to build on more wants too but especially fears. Would love to see this expansion pack or something just like it. I’m almost positive it would be hugely successful.

However I don’t know if there are enough years in the sims 4 to make it happen. So it might have to be an exp. For the sims 5. But I think it would be a shame for it to never exist.

I thought you were talking about the band Mayhem when I read the title of the thread lol. Great band.
  • My first thought was the Allstate guy.

The dining and dashing scenario could be fun. :D
  • I think that'd be some great gameplay but sounds more like a Mod created by fans. EA and The Sims team would never do a pack like this, especially not THIS generation. It's too heavy and would offend a lot of people and doesn't seem like they'd go that route. I know they teased some End of the World content early during the community polls and hope they're still thinking about that but I just don't see this type of stuff coming any time soon.
  • Thank you. I think it would be a successful expansion and be a big seller
  • You may be right but I think if it’s done in a cartoony looney tunes kind of way they could get away with it. But I do think they need to quit worrying about offending everybody, I think that’s beginning to become a lot of businesses in the entertainment industries pit fall. Whether it’s games or movies.

Games aren’t reality, they shouldn’t be limited to this reality. And the sims had never been limited to that when it comes to supernaturals and other quirky characters they have put in the game. Especially in the sims 2. I could totally see this kind of expansion in the sims 2. The game is rated T, not E. If this was a An E rated game meant to only appeal to younger generations then I would get it, but it’s not, the sims has always been a game that has been known since the beginning for being ahead of it’s time and for it’s dark comical humor.

Maybe now they wouldn’t put in the dark humor that was in the sims 2 and sims 1 but I honestly think they could get away with it with a game pack or expansion pack, if it’s to much for someone then they don’t need to buy it. I think this iteration has tried to hard to appease everyone and I think when you do that, your setting yourself up to fail because you will never meet Everyone’s expectations and their will always be someone who feels left out or who gets offended if their trying too or looking hard enough. I truly believe that’s why this game gets so much criticism from players is because this game has tried so hard to appease everyone that’s it’s sort of set itself up for that. And it’s cool of them to try and do it, but when it starts effecting a game thats T rated and makes it less fun that’s when I think quit trying so hard to appease everyone because it’s missing out on it’s opportunity to be the best game it can be.

I think it’s better to just try and make a fun quirky sims game that can put in T rated themes without worrying about it offending the masses. Because that’s a no win situation.

And I would get it more if I was talking about making the sims game more like grand theft auto but I’m not. I think the things I mentioned could easily fit into this game and yes some players might not like it but then guess what, just don’t purchase the expansion pack or game pack, and I honestly think for many it would be a breath of fresh air, I think a lot of players would appreciate the risk and it would make the sims more popular then ever.

Plus there are mods you can add to the game that add more adult or suggestive themes in it, but that doesn’t mean you have to download them. And so if you don’t want certain content in you”re game don’t download it or let alone buy it.

Just like with this new horse expansion pack, no one is forcing people to put that content in their game or buy it. And I have heard complaints from players saying they are offended by the horse expansion pack because the developers didn’t do enough cultural references or something along those lines, probably because they were more interested in actually making the gameplay fun, which is what their goal should be in my opinion.

Not how are we going to add a western themed pack without offending people, I’d rather a fun game versus a boring one because they’re afraid to put things in their that will make the game fun. And honestly I don’t think the competition they’re going to have is going to worry about it, if you don’t like what’s in the game, then don’t play it or buy the add ons you don’t like or would be offended by. Just like you wouldn’t download mods that you don’t want in you”re game.

Especially if it’s rated T, it’s rated T for a reason because there might be some suggestive Themes in it or game play that you could possibly not like or be offended by. It’s just my opinion, but I feel like many people are getting tired of worrying about that constantly when wanting to be entertained, whether it’s a game or a movie, they just want to have fun and be entertained. And there will always be people with negative commentary because you can’t please everyone.

Im at least hoping the sims 5 plays a little harder on their T rating. A lot of their fan base are adult players. I think to ignore that is a mistake.
