ASSIGNMENT 1: INTRODUCE YOURSELVES

Damiel: The first time Sasha and I met we already knew who the other was. It happens in an industry like ours. Our bands are signed to the same label, we moved in the same circles and attended the same parties.

I'll never forget the day we officially met. It was at the home of David Kan, the owner of our label, laughing llama records. She'd been there with her brother for a meeting, I was there to collect a guitar I'd left there a week before. She answered the door, and I was struck by lightning.

Sasha: And that's when the conversation started. I was awe-struck at first, Damiel Kool wanted to talk to me? But we just connected, and kept talking. David eventually kicked us out before his kids got home from school. I invited Damiel to my flat, since it was nearby. It didn't take long for the conversation to turn to shop. I don't remember if we ate anything. Who needs food when you've got passion like ours?

I think during that eventing, Damiel may have let slip something off the album his band was working on. I remember hearing it weeks later, and finding one track in particular to be very familiar.

Damiel: Or it was the other way around? And the track was written later. It happens that way, inspiration comes from the stranges places, sometimes from the strangest late night converastions. We talked and played music until the sun came up. And then our lives got in the way. The next night I was back in the studio, and by the time we were done, Sasha was on tour with Sibling Rivalry.

Sasha: But that didn't really stop us, even though we were forced to take things slow by circumstance. There was a lot of day time texting, and late night phone calls. We didn't see each other again until the night of the party celebrating laughing llama artists who'd been nominated for the sim city music awards.

Damiel: Yes, before you ask, yes. I kissed her at that party. I went home with her. That is what you were wanting to know? Isn't it?

Sasha: Again, we stayed up all night, talking about music, playing music. Music is what we live for, music pays the bills, music is what brought us together.

And to let you in on a little secret, Damiel is a better guitarist than my brother. Don't tell Alexi I said that.

Damiel: People keep asking if we're working on something together. Right now, while we've got the time, we're working on us. The music will always be there, you can keep hoping for our side project. While we've got the time, we're going to stay up late, make music, we might fall asleep fully clothed, or we might... well anything more is none of your business.

Sasha: Shhhhhhhhhhh! We're working on something top secret. But I didn't say that.

I was seriously struggling to write as just one or the other, for some odd reason, this needed both their voices.

And I'm dumping my ramble into a spoiler.
