Assignment 2- Happy Place
Tiffany and Devon
~Tiffany's POV~
It wasn't long after our first meeting that Devon and I started dating. The first few months together were great. We connected really well with each other, and I fell for him hard.
Of course, all relationships have ups and downs. It just so happens when you're a celebrity, the media can bring a lot more problems and drama.
At the time, we had been together for a little over ten months. We'd just gotten back to Devon's loft after hanging out at a celebrity party.Ever since the media had found out about us dating, I'd actually become a lot more popular in the modelling and celebrity world. So it's no wonder that more and more people were socializing with me, and such.
Devon didn't see it that way.
"That guy was all over you tonight," he said; sounding tense.
"Hm? Oh, you mean Kyle? He was friendly, and I was just being polite and friendly back."
He scoffed at that remark, and shook his head. "Yeah..I'm sure you were real polite."
I didn't like his tone. "What are you trying to say?! Do you not trust me or something?"
Devon still wouldn't look me in the eye. "I don't know. I mean...I don't trust guys like that. It's obvious they're just trying to get in your pants, Tiffany! I know you've enjoyed all the extra attention."
I was stunned. How could he say that to me? I knew he was angry and feeling jealous, but I still couldn't believe what he was telling me.
"How dare you!" Tears began to form in my eyes. "From the start, I promised I only had eyes for you; I promised you'd have my trust and love always. Does that suddenly mean nothing to you?!"
I was met with silence.
Tears began falling down my face, and I felt so hurt. "If that's how you feel...then I might as well leave! I'm not going to be with someone who can't even trust or believe in me." I shook my head, and turned towards the door.
Before I could even take a step, Devon's arms were around my waist, and he held me close. I tried to move away, but he only held me tighter. He leaned down, and rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Please..." His voice was a whisper. "Don't go...I'm sorry."
I couldn't go if I tried; considering how tight he was holding me.
I sighed, and he turned me around to face him. Tears were still rolling down my cheeks.
He cupped my face, and and I finally looked at him.
His eyes were filled with pain, and I knew he was truly sorry.
He sighed, and continued caressing my cheek. "I'm sorry for reacting that way. I was jealous, and feeling insecure; I took it out on you."
We continued to stare at each other for a few moments, and I again felt like Devon's eyes were staring deep into my soul. I saw so much emotion in his eyes; he was pleading with me.
I tentatively leaned in, and kissed him softly.
I said, "Let's get out of here..."
I ended up googling a bunch of different stores and boutiques online, and ironically found one called "Tiffany's". It seemed like the perfect place for us to go, not just because of the name, but because it was out of town; away from all the paparazzi and tabloids.
Tiffany's became our happy place after that night. Whenever we're stressed or tired from media drama or are just having a bad day; we head out to Tiffany's. Sometimes we shop, other times we simply look around, and hold hands. It's peaceful.
There was a time when a bunch of magazines tried to make it look like I had a new "mystery man" in my life, and of course Devon was feeling frustrated and bummed out because of it. So, I drove him to Tiffany's. I specifically went there in search of something funny or ridiculous that would make him laugh.
Devon:
We'd already been looking around and shopping somewhat, and we'd kind of gone our separate ways. I was looking at cologne or something when she came up behind me; giggling.
"Hey, Devon...I must ache you a question!!"
I was confused, but shook my head, and turned around.
I almost dropped the shopping bag I was holding. "What the he** are those?!!"
Tiffany continued to laugh. "Do you like them? I picked them out special for you!!" She was teasing me, and seeing her so happy and silly did make me feel so much better. The experience brought a smile to my face.
~Tiffany~
They were mustache boxer briefs!! His reaction was perfect!! I remember how surprised and embarrassed he was. He was totally blushing!
(Devon: I was not!)
He was!! I saw it.
Now I know what you're thinking. Did I actually convince him to buy them..? Well....
-Devon-
That's another story for another time! And by another time...I mean never.
(Tiffany: You're no fun!)
