My TS4 Wish List

These are things I miss from TS3, things I feel should have been included in an already released pack, and things that make logical sense within their respective themes.

Down On The Farm Pack
Has your sim always wanted to be a farmer? Love animals, but don't want to be a vet? The Down On The Farm pack is for you! Ride horses, herd cows, and gather eggs from your lovely lady chickens.

New animals

  • Horses (please, seriously, why do we not have them already?)
  • Cows-and let us milk them
  • Chickens-can collect eggs, use in cooking?
  • Pigs(maybe)-truffle hunting and food
  • Sheep-wool can be spun into yarn and used in crafting

New gameplay

  • Herd with your dog!
  • Gather supplies from your animals and sell, cook, or craft with them!
  • Improve your riding skill and become a rodeo champ!
  • Win prizes at the local fair for your amazing stock!
  • Breed and race horses to be the ultimate champion!

New careers
Rodeo Star-active career
Cowboy/girl-active career
Horse Trainer-rabbithole career

Items would include all things necessary for caring for the new animal species, farm/ranch themed CAS and build items, and new harvestables. Other new gameplay would include a county fair and rodeo event and crafting.

Magical Creatures Pack
There's something...odd in the air. Sparkling dust can be seen trailing along the ground, mysterious howls ring out late at night, and rumors of a horned horse persist. What will your sim discover?

New life states

  • Lycanthrope-werewolf/cat/almost anything really
  • Fairy-with their own unique magical abilities
  • Genie-remember, you only have three wishes!

New Animal

  • Unicorn-could also be a new life state for horses. Should have cloven hooves and a lion like tail, as opposed to being a horse with a horn stuck on its head....

New gameplay for this pack would revolve around the new life states and their unique abilities and the taming of unicorns. Festivals/events could also be added to tie into them. The lunar cycle would need to return, and be customizable in length to match the seasons.

New items would be fairy, genie, and wereanimal related, in both CAS and build mode.

  • Existing gameplay changes/improvements

    Jobs/careers

    • Live-in/home businesses-mods exist that kinda make this work, but the types of items you can sell are limited.
    • More active careers/update existing jobs to be active
    • Part time jobs
    • Anything that doesn't rely on social media....it feels like there's too heavy a focus on this in TS4 right now.

Babies and toddlers-TS3 had, IMO, the best babies of the series.

    • Free them from the crib!
    • Allow early skill gains.
    • Give us more cribs/allow us to use custom cribs by default. Currently you have to jump through a few modding hoops to make this happen.
    • Allow younger children to assist with baby and toddler care. They can fetch bottles or snacks, pick up and soothe a crying baby, etc.

Richer sims personalities. Currently all my sims behave in essentially the same way, with no noticeable variations despite what their traits are.

    • Favorites-music, food, TV genre
    • And hated-ditto
    • Zodiac-incorporate different aspects of some traits to add more depth without adding more trait slots
    • More trait slots-if the above is simply not possible
    • More traits-I'm getting rather bored of all the same ones.
    • Attractiveness likes/dislikes-again, there are mods that address this, but I would prefer it was part of the official gameplay.

Craftable items. One of my favorite parts of past sims games, sorely lacking in TS4.

    • Clothing
    • Customize the easel paintings-without having to learn to mod.
    • Pottery
    • Embroidery
    • Plush animals and toys
    • Perfumes and colognes
    • Cards
    • Scrapbooks/albums

Real estate. Once again, it feels like TS4 took a large step back in this area.

    • Vacation homes
    • Own other residences you can rent
    • Apartments
    • Hotels/B&Bs, ownable by sims
    • Ownable parks/stores/etc
  • I also hope to see in Sims 4:

    -multifuncional lot because
I want to fix apartment shells in City L. EP
    -open neighborhood
    -underweater lots
  • I do like the idea of underwater lots. Sims 3 had amazing oceans IMO. I don't know if open hoods are possible in the TS4 engine, but I would like to see that, too.
  • I'd love a winter world cause I live in the mountains! It could include things such as:
    Skiing
    Snowboarding
    Lodges/resorts
    Professional ice skating
    Other winter activities
    Ice fishing
    Deeper snow mechanics!
    Hiking
    Etc

Ability to turn off occults and celebrity status for townies

    This, and:
    - attraction system and turn on/offs
    - only moodlets related to traits (every situation should have different impact on sims depending on their traits)
    - many more aspirations without the levels and small goals. They should have only one big goal
    - chores and self care should take wayyy less time
    - owning multiple homes
    - vacations where you should be able to buy a second home
    - more humour (the game is boring now, it doen't make justice to what the sims has always been)
    - cars. Even if only to pretend that we use, it would be great to build a classic car's garage to my ultra rich sims
    - nectar making (i find this so fun! And interesting...)

Agreed! Occults are cool and thank god there's no zombies...yet, but I want to decide if my Sim should be a vampire, not because they befriended one.

Totally yes about more personality options. Attractiveness likes/dislikes would be more interesting, not only having same the traits make up a relationship.
