New Medieval Fantasy Challenge

Hi everyone! Welcome to new Medieval Fantasy Challenge. This was inspired by a poll I had for having Medieval themed save. You can find the poll here: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/18326618#Comment_18326618

Your foundation sims just woke up one day and had landed on a era that´s quite bizzarre. It´s not Medieval and it´s not Modern either. It´s like worlds collided and both of those eras mixed into a Fantasy where modern walks hand in hand with Medieval times. Your founder will be having Medievalish lifestyle, but will be allowed to do some little mix and match with modern things. For this challenge you need a empty world or emptied region of bigger World where you will be having your main family and some rotational side families.

Your foundation couples are survivors of the great Supernatural Battle. Everyone was there, werewolves, spellcasters, plantsims, vampires, mermaids and humans. All of your first generation survivors must have bite marks and scars somewhere in their body or face (can be added from CAS). Your foundation couple can be supernaturals or humans. If they are supernaturals they have the battle scars too. To get started Create a foundation couple in CAS of two young adults. Both of them must have 2 positive traits and one negative. They are allowed to have pets, you can create pets to go with them. After all they are survivors from the great battle. Both of them must be dressed in clothes that have Medievalish vibe. No need to be exactly Medieval and can be mixed little with modern era. The next step is to move your foundation couple on a lot. It can be any size. You should think about how your sim is going to make a living and decide based on that. All jobs are not available and your founding couple will only be allowed to work from home, farm, fish, paint, making things and selling them etc.

- Change the lot challenge into Simple living.
- You can also turn off electricity and make it off the grid if you want but you dont have to.
- Build a commoner/peasant styled Medieval house with 1 living area, 1 bathroom and cooking area. If you have animals build the animal shelter inside or very close to the main building as thats how they lived during those times. Place the bed in livingroom or build small attick and place the bed there.
- Place chicken coop or animal shelter close to the house and buy one cow, mini lambs, mini goats or chickens. (not all of them, choose only one at the start)
- Place a small garden on the lot somewhere. Build fences around it.
- Make little pond in the lot somewhere and put fishes in it.
- If you have horses, make shelter for them and a pasture.
- Use rest of the simeleons to decorate your lot with trees, bushes, rocks and flowers until you have 200 simeleons left.

Choose one of these themes to set goal for your lineage (continue 10 generations). You will create all of these families, but choose one to be your main family.

Farmer

This family will have a thriving farm with animals and beautiful garden. Your Household in this will focus on farming, keeping farm animals, horses, gardening, fishing and other jobs that can be done at home. They can also focus on nectar making and sell them for living.

Maker

Makers will focus on making and selling things. They can open little village shop too if they want for their goodies. They can sell homecooked foods with the home chef hustle pack food stand from their home lot, open restaurant or bakery that is Medievalish styled by the look and menu or just sell candles, knitted things, paintings etc from home as they wish.

Nobles

This lineage is all about power and becoming Kings, Queens etc. Focus on collecting and earning money by becoming musician, writer, painter or politican. Your goal is to build a Strong Castle for your family and kids, and ofrourse rule over the lands. They love to travel and meet new sims. After they have collected minimun of 100 000 simeleons they are allowed to buy a castle and start dressing themselves like Kings and Queens. Note that if you don´t play this goal as main family you are allowed to build them a castle right away with money cheat.

Villains

These sims just won´t fit in with the mass. They be earning their living by doing some shady things. One of the founding couples must have the kleptomanic, glutton or evil trait and it has to be inherited in the lineage for the next heir. They live little bit out of sight and try to keep it to themselves. They must build a house with secret basement or a hidden place for all their treasures they got. They also love trading and bying used stuff for later selling them. Goal of this family is to come up with all the ways to survining by not going with the mass and have treasure chest full of artifacts.

Supernaturals

This family tries to survive after the aftermath of the great battle. They will focus on keeping their skills, mastering their species spesific qualities and keeping their Supernatural powers alive in the lineage. They try to live amongst humans peacefully and at the same time keep their Supernatural abilities in the lineage. They may try their Supernatural powers on the npc´s but if they try it on your neighbors, be aware of the drama and scars.

After you chose a goal to your main family, create rest of the founding couples. There are 5 of them, 1 main family and 4 side families that you place in the same neighborhood close to your main family as neighbors. You are allowed to play rotationally with the side families (as side quests) but you don´t have to. You can focus on your main family only. Remember that all of them has Medievalish Fantasy styled clothes and scars from the battle. Everyone has one negative trait and 2 positives. Build or download houses for all these 5 families and place them in the area you chose. The rest of the neighborhood is up to you to decide if you want to empty the lots or just keep them going as they are.

About the battle and supernaturals. Mostly the werewolves have kept to themselfves in Moonwood Mill isolated from everyone and Spellcasters like to stay in Glimmerbrook to avoid conflicts. Some Supernaturals might try to blend in with humans and live amongst them but they have to be little careful of being exposed. Moonwood Mill is protected by a powerful immortal werewolf called Greg and if you wan´t to live in Moonwood Mill, you have to be werewolf or want to join them/become one. Same goes with Vampires, Vlad protects their area. Spellcasters are little more welcoming, but remember that they might put a spell on you if you enter Glimmerbrook. If your sim encounters with Supernatural or Human sim and they end up having battle, it leaves a scar. Enter CAS and add a scar into your sim. If your main household member wants to marry a Supernatural or vice verca it´s gonna cause some drama as the families and elders might not support that mixing. But if you do, its allowed mix.

Challenge Rules

- No money cheats for the main household (money cheats are allowed to side families if you dont play them).
- You must always live Simple Living lot challenge turned on.
- All families can have pets and animals.
- All families can earn simeleons by fishing, gardening, breeding pets, selling eggs, milk, wool from farm animals etc, nectar making and selling, racing and selling horses, writing, painting, selling candles, selling things made with woodwork bench, selling food from home chef hustle stand, Selling collectives and artifacts is allowed too and making flowers/selling them from flower arranging table. Don´t forget bugs and bees. You can also have bees and sell honey.
- All families are allowed to have pets.
- The main family has to always have one heir alive for the next generation.
- Your normal human sim can become supernatural.
- Your supernatural sim can find a cure and become human.
- Your household is allowed to vacation and travel.
- You can adopt children and pets.
- Mini goats and lambs are allowed, you can sell their milk and wool.

To get started

After building your starting peasant styled house and decorating the lot find some veggies and fruits to grow. At the beginning you must have at least 4-8 different kind of veggies and fruits to grow (they can be fruit trees too). You won´t be able to take food from the fridge like normally because you live Simple Living lot trait turned on. Rest of the food you can buy from Henford village. You are not allowed to order food, because that service is out of order. You must grow your own food. Finding and having food is your first priority. When you have a small garden going on and you established your animal sheters start thinking of how to survive and how to make a living by working from home. If your founding couple is not married, get them married and have children before they turn from young adults to adults. Have 5 children in the first generation and choose one of them to be the heir. Spares are allowed to live in the lot if there is enough room. If not, move them somehwere. Play with your main household until you reach 10th generation. Remember that the second generation does not have any scars...yet. But if they encounter beings like werewolfes, vampires etc you must always add the scars somewhere in CAS if the encounter was not going well. If wereowolf attacks your sim, you must put big scar marks on their body. Try to be friendly with them or become more powerful and win them in the battle. If you win, you are left with no scars If a vampire bites your sim, add little scar somewhere, they do have long nails and fangs. Learn how to protect your home. Athletic skills helps on that. During the Medieval era both female and male sims were working hard, walked a lot or were riding with horses. Horses were very common and people mostly were riding for travel to another destination. Males had sparrings and were participating in Gladiator like competitons but since our challenge is colliding with modern era, women can do same stuff as men. Use hastag #newmedievalchallenge
