90s Fashion

90s fashion turned out to be much harder than I had expected. This is the time when I was a teenager, so you'd think it be easy! Instead I kept thinking that people just wore "normal clothes" and that made it so much more difficult.

So instead of my usual three posts, I'm going to settle for one joint post and instead highlight a few trends that were popular. I'll skip the kids, as most of what is in game would work, and focus on adults.

First out: Moms.

Here I've mixed what I've seen in the Sears and JC Penny catalogues with what I remember my own mother wearing. A lot of jackets with t-shirts or sweaters underneath combined with either jeans or fairly long flowing skirts. Other trends were mixing these with knitwork or oversized sweaters with bold prints, but we don't have too many of those.

Oversized clothes:

A major trend in the 90s. Here I've comprised them in three looks that works in game. 

Hip Hop

This started in the 80s but was still going strong in the early 90s. This might be the only decade where I will allow the game to use the middle outfit, although likely not as I still hate the look. 

Grunge:

Another huge trend was of course the grunge trend. There is an entire kit for this, but as I don't own it I've done the best with what I have, meaning a lot of the werewolf pack.

Some generic 90s outfits:

Not everyone had a distinct style. Most of us just wore "clothes" so I made a few looks for the more generic 90s-style, including a little nod to the trend my friends loved - the 70s-look!

Neon colors and fitness outfits: 

Were still inspired by the 80s, but now aerobics were in fashion. Neon colors were still popular but now on black background. I even had a sofa with neon patterns on a black fabric in my room, but not so many clothes as I remember. Maybe in the early 90s.

ME!

Finally, something I had great fun with. Making my teenage self. This, is a very good representation of what I wore, with the very tight, formfitting jeans being a staple. I had more fun with these outfits than with any other, I think I even got the hair, jewelry and make-up fairly accurate to what I looked like. Note that my work-out wear looked nothing like the trend, but in gym class, oversized t-shirt and bicycle shorts was what everyone was wearing.
