not meant as an official challenge...
I usually just play this myself, but a couple of people were interested in trying it.. SO, I have to share the rules here. YES, I am interested anyway, in advice. But as I said, I was not planning to share this. I failed it by the way.. It is similar to many eco challenges.. the only eco i ever tried was made by simgurupopcorn and I failed that too.. Anyway, her challenge inspired this. hoping it is ok, and if not, please be kind.. I would be better at creating puzzle shells, than something that has to actually be organized..
Inspired by simgurupopcorn eco pop challenge
ok, so I have been periodically trying these rags 2 riches/eco challenges, but I like my own version. (yes, I failed mine)
ECO is a must expansion for this.. (not sure it works without)
1: create whatever sim you want. gay, bi, trans, straight, ANY sim. You may even create a teen. I believe the game allows for that now.. BUT,
they will have to go to school.
2: Traits: FREGEN, recycle disciple, and maker are your traits
3: Aspiration: eco innovator
4: Your sim is not allowed to get a job you will earn money by selling, or dumpster diving
YOUR goal, build a green home with lot traits, Eco lot, reduce recycle, and off the grid, and be an activist, to clean up your world NOTICE, the
smog by your lot? Your sim HATES this. (side note a full complete home consists of 4 functional rooms. 1 bathroom, one bedroom, one kitchen, and
one living room)..
Evergreen Harbour is your world.. shipping views is your lot. THIS lot will aggravate your sim. Once in, you have to get rid of all your funds.
to do this, you hit cntrl shift c all at once then in the bar type money 0
dumpsters, toilets etc.. will not be easy to find, so you will have to travel. But there is one dumpster, not far from your lot. Caboose bar, and
other open lots as well, you can find by choosing travel on your phone. (hint canal corner is by more dumpsters) as well park benches etc. why
didn't I choose that lot you ask? Because I like to torture myself.
some of these challenges, voting is not allowed.. Not here. you may vote, BUT you will want to repeal sharing is caring as soon as you can.
People like to steal sinks among other things. To repeal, you will need 5 signatures. Otherwise keep all votes towards everything green, or eco
related.
Harvesting, you can harvest any plants you see around your travels. You may also eat the food if you like, but you must plant at least 3 seeds of
each.. you can also sell if you need to.
Sometimes you will find money in a dumpster. you may use this to buy food or drinks from an establishment, or choose to save it.
THINGS YOU MAY NOT PURCHASE home furnishings, toilet, bed, shower, stove etc.. or crafting materials. you can find those, or grow them..
Otherwise anything you would use INSIDE your home, you must get from a dumpster. or eventually fabricate..
THINGS YOU MAY PURCHASE eventually, a wind turbine, or solar panel, generator, 1 for now. also, dew collector, recycler, fabricator, bug house,
candle maker table, entrepreneurs table, wash basin and clothes line, vertical planter only.. (unsure if you can find a hamper or garbage can in
dumpster. or fabricate them, so u may purchase one of those each also)
What can you sell? This is one I still struggle with.Your sim has to repair broken items that he/she will use IN the home. If your sim cannot
repair, they will have to hire repair. Some items however, cannot be repaired, so they must be replaced or recycled, or sold. BUT you are only
allowed to replace, if it is less than 500 simoleons. Otherwise, sell, but you will want to recycle as much as you can. Since you will be
fabricating, and upgrading to eco friendly, eventually. Another thing, some other challenges wont allow selling something worth 1k or more. I'd
prefer you not sell, when that high, but it is your game.. So I cannot say if that should actively be a rule.
WHEN CAN I START TO BUILD MY HOUSE?
MORE RULES!!
1: as soon as you have enough items for a full room, and enough simoleons, you may start. ONLY one room at a time. here is an example
you have been diving for deals, and you have found a toilet, sink and either shower, bath or both.. You may now build a bathroom. BUT only if you
have enough money to build your 4 walls, and a door. windows, wall or floor decor, at this point are optional, lighting is also optional. If you
have a fabricator, and can make lights, great!! As well, all items must be repaired first, AND though it is not always in your control, it is
best if they are off the grid compliant. BUT, if you have been able to generate your own water, or power, you should be ok. Another thing, I won't
really tell you how large your room can be, but you will want to make sure it is just the right size to eventually be able to attach to other
rooms. Mine thus far have been 3x4 or 3x5
2: for a kitchen, before you build your room, you will need, a stove, a sink, a fridge, one counter to prep food on, a table and at least one
chair. if you have these, and the money you can build your kitchen.
3: bedroom, a carpet, bed single or double, does not matter, a dresser, an end table.
4: living room a carpet, couch or loveseat, an armchair, or similar, a coffee table, an end table, a bookshelf, ONE picture for your wall, and
yes NOW you need light. But by this time you may be able to fabricate a light, or you will have a candle to use. tv, or radio is optional. you
may use those, but only if the power U generate supports it..
you may not have more than necessary items.. Example, 2 sinks are ok, as you will eventually have a kitchen and at least 1 bathroom. After you
have 1 full kitchen, and one full bathroom, you may start to collect for a second bathroom. ALL of this also applies to other rooms. More than 2,
you MUST recycle the extra, but if any are off the grid, you MUST keep those over all.. Same rule applies to anything that also comes in off the
grid mode. At this point, was where I failed my own challenge..
Coming to the end..
As mentioned earlier, a full house is 4 functional rooms. If you have that, great!! But you have not won yet. By now, you should be able to
fabricate almost anything. SO, EVERYTHING in your home, NOW has to be eco.. Some items you can upgrade to be eco, some you cannot. At this point, you will have to recycle those items you cannot make eco, and fabricate or if you are lucky, find a replacement in a dumpster. I never made it
this far, so I don't actually know if it will work..
Lastly, aspirations must be fulfilled, and you had best be a loud mouth getting all sims to listen to you. YOU, are an activist. So ACT!!
If you have done ALL of this, then you win!! There is one thing, eventually your sim will want to be a civil designer. If you completed everything that had to be done, and there is nothing left.. Then you have finished.. So If you want to continue on with that, and become an eco designer, feel free.
Disclaimer: I only ever play this on my own. I don't know how much of it all would work. I never completed it.. But since some sims friends want to try it, then maybe they can help critique it!! Also, I did not use cheats, so no one should. BUT sometimes your sim needs to be reset.. you are allowed to fix that only.
Should anyone have advice, or a suggestion, please quote the part that might need a bit of fixing, and add it to your reply, with your idea.. thank-you.
