@VIRTUALEE I totally understand! I mean, I couldn't play the Black Widow Challenge because when two sims are in love I find it hard to destroy their happiness! And I always thought it morbid when slaves were sacrificed in the death pit in Amazon challenge.
But the more I'm absorbed with my story the more I'm considering this dramatic element, especially because it would make sense. I'm willing to sacrifice one character to enable growth of the other, although I'd be crying a river of tears when writing it.
When you need a character to suddenly change his/her behaviour to the complete opposite, make a good character bad or vice versa, you must be willing to do anything to make it believable.
I would never kill a character just to make readers sad or for the sake of surprise. I would only do it if I felt it was necessary for character and plot development.
OOoo I love this line "I'm willing to sacrifice one character to enable growth of the other..." that is so deep and so necessary!! I feel like this will be my growth opportunity as a Simlit author is to be able to 'sacrifice' in order to develop other characters and the plot.
