Older Brother Challenge (Modified Big Sister Challenge)
So, last week I finished up my first Big Sister challenge- and while it was a lot of fun, I eventually got a good solid routine going and finished it pretty easily. I really enjoyed it! But I tried to think of something more difficult for my sims and my own gameplay style, and the direction I took would be the Big Brother challenge (no, not the show Big Brother- just an older brother). So instead of copy-pasting my own changes and edits on the Big Sister challenge, I figured I should take it from the top!
1. Your Family
2. Your Lot and Starting Finances
3. Gameplay
The goal of this challenge is to: max out your toddler's skills, have your teenage brother age up to young adult with 10,000 simoleons in your household funds, have your teenage brother age up to young adult with at least 1 level 10 skill, and have your toddler and brother have a relationship at "Good Friends" or higher.
My starting siblings were Andy and Gracelyn Prescott. In addition to the Clumsy trait, Andy has the Bookworm trait and the Writer aspiration. Currently, Andy and Gracelyn live at Dachshund's Creek and have 3,043 simoleons, and are on Spring 6. Andy has not yet attended school or gotten a job; the majority of their income comes from Andy playing guitar at the park and their garden beds.

1. Your Family
- You MUST start with parent(s) in the household. The parent(s) may have any traits. You also MUST kill the parents immediately after placing the household.
- The Big Brother must be a teenager. He also must have the "Clumsy" personality trait. He may have any other trait or aspiration.
- The Little Sibling may be a boy or a girl, but they must have the "Clingy" toddler trait. The Little Sibling must be a toddler.
-
2. Your Lot and Starting Finances
- You must start in either Willow Creek's "Bargain Bend" lot (30x20) or Brindleton Bay's "Dachshund Creek" lot (30x20) if you have the Cats and Dogs expansion pack.
- Your starting house must be only 3x8 in area, plus a 1x2 extension- think RV in appearance. The 1x2 extension may be diagonal to accommodate the bay window seating if you so choose. Your house must also have a full bathroom and a kitchen, and may not have any separate bedrooms off of the main room. This essentially leaves you with a two room house. You may use the moveobjects cheat to place furniture, however.
- You may have up to five garden beds, and four pieces of non-decorative furniture outdoors (ex patio chairs and tables, bench, bathtub, whatever).
- The total value of the house and lot MUST be between 10,000 and 15,000 simoleons.
- After completing the lot, set your family's finances to 0 using the money cheat.
3. Gameplay
- As stated previously, you must immediately kill the parent(s).
- You must start in Winter, with 14 day seasons if you have the Seasons expansion pack. Sim lifespans must be set to long.
- Your brother may go to school and get a job, but here's the catch: you cannot send your toddler to daycare; you MUST hire a babysitter/nanny if you choose to send him to school or work. (This is because in the non-Sim world, taking a child to and from daycare requires a vehicle. "Teenagers" can't buy cars nor can they drive.) Until you can afford a babysitter, he must stay home.
- Your brother and toddler may talk to adults, young adults, and elders, but they can't invite them onto their home lot, nor can they become friends with them.
- Parent ghosts may not take care of your toddler.
- You may not grow any fruits, vegetables, etc. outside of the garden beds.
- Your brother may not date or invite other teenage sims onto their home lot until there's 5,000 simoleons in your household funds.
- You may not expand your house or buy new furniture until there's over 5,000 simoleons in your household funds.
