Once again, the warm sun had turned into cold winter air, and Selena was thinking about how Sofia had bumped into her at lunch, pushing her out of line in the process.
“Oops…” She’d paused, before pivoting and taking spot in the line. “Hey, you’re the new girl, right? Selena…” She looked her up and down. “Hm.”
“And you’re Sofia.” Selena didn’t say anything, but merely looked back, meeting her gaze evenly. Sofia didn’t falter, but the way she looked at her was making Selena uncomfortable.
“You know, you could stand to speak a bit more. You don’t speak to anyone, and that’s pretty off-putting, you know?” Sofia had scoffed. “Seriously.”
Selena had been too tired to stop herself from saying the next words, which had spelled instant death socially. She’d heard the gasps.
“Better than speaking and being off-putting.”

Social exile would have begun if Selena hadn’t already kept to herself. Sofia and her group had resorted to tearing her down, making comments about how she looked, and treating her still as though she wasn’t there. Her locker had a couple of mean little notes inside, but she’d quietly put them into the recycling.
Honestly, these were children’s games. Selena had grown up surrounded by girls like Sofia who would act like this without provocation, so Selena wasn’t surprised at all. However, Sofia had somehow found out that Selena worked at a fast food place, and when Selena reached into her locker to grab some books, Sofia had loudly asked, “Do you want fries with that?”
Hot shame had flooded her cheeks, but she’d held her chin high, ignoring her while Sofia’s friends laughed behind the smirking blonde.

Well, Selena had a long day at school and came back to the cold, pulling another vending machine on top of her, because of course she did...

While she was out, we got bills. Luckily, we could pay them, but this lady definitely didn't look too happy to be delivering post in the rain.

Selena did end up getting a snack too (we were low on money, but frankly she's had a tough time and she deserves some nice stuff) and the same vendor was there again. I think Selena is a regular at this point.

Finally, in a spooky turn of events, Yamachan came to the house and started making White Cake???

So, Selena has been working hard on her project! We got it the other day, and it's a Robotics one. Due to the challenge, it'll be sold, but hey, it's so cool, right? Selena's Programming skill has gone up while working on it.

She also snagged a Gold Pit Beast Simmi! A win for our finances!

As a result, we now have more of a house, and I'm super excited. Her house is actually taking shape so quickly!
