Dear Diary,
The homesickness finally hit. I knew it would, but man, I miss Mom and Dad like crazy. Even though I know they’d be nagging and worrying like they always do, I just miss waking up in the morning to Dad whistling as he makes breakfast, or Mom telling me I’ll be late for school. Nobody wakes me up in the morning any more, and I never thought that I’d miss it, but I really, really do. I wonder if Nanny Nia ever missed her family like this?
January 6th

I met Yamachan, the local mascot! He had some handlers, and we took a selfie together. Apparently there’s going to be a local festival soon, too, which sounds incredible. I asked my landlords, the Wakabas, about it, and they told me that there’s three different festivals that get held around here, each of them full of food and fun and local people running stalls. Apparently, at the snow festival, people make giant sculptures, and at the light festival, you can watch fire dancing and hang wishes on a special tree. I really, really want to go to one of these! They sound like so much fun.
Oh, and Yamachan is usually there too, apparently? I wish Newcrest had mascots like this, it would get a lot more people into a community spirit. I think so, at least. I mean, the most we do in Newcrest is always organised by people who like telling people what to do wayyyyy too much. I’m really excited for the festival!

So, as is pretty traditional at this point, Amelia has a garden! It's not much of one, but gardens are a good way to make money while you sleep.

Unfortunately, in order to keep things up, she still has to contend with Jenny's Curse, and she lost this round. She's already exhausted, so this really didn't help her mood. She's starting to get to that point where she's constantly tired or tense.

After school, I had her start planting things in the garden - of course going for the spring plants! I'll replace them once the season changes, of course.

And, after that, it was the end of the day. I'm not making huge progress on her aspirations, I have to admit - it's hard to do so! But for now, I think we're getting along just fine.

First up - huge improvements to the house! I think I scored some good gold Simmis and that's what led to this? My memory's still a little fuzzy from being unwell, but I'm so pleased with how things are. I think I might mostly leave the house like this for now and focus on aspirations and building up money. Amelia has her own bedrooms as well as a living space, and everything looks much nicer!

She also learned Scruberoo and Repairo, if I remember correctly, and has been working on her magic for a little bit. For now, I'll probably also leave her magic where it is, due to needing to get those aspirations done.

The garden has added extra duties onto her day, but it's also helping keep her responsibility up. I'm hoping she'll get the Responsible trait when she does age up, but I'll have to make sure to keep it all balanced. This challenge can make that a bit hard!

Also, thanks to her efforts with the Simmi machine, she collected the entire set (though they've all been sold) and now has this lovely plaque! Hopefully it's the first of many!

I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things, and I can't wait to catch up. Having played ahead is definitely a help for my having been unwell!
