- If I am playing a Sim I generally do R2R or a variation.
- I did it too after being inspired by his series and had my sim open up an art gallery too. She didn't get filthy rich because I got bored but it was quite fun and addictive.
- NetzspannungSeasoned NewcomerI rarely let a sim start out with funds. I like to buy them an empty plot of land and cheat their funds to zero. Usually I will let them make money in line with the story I have in mind for them and sometimes there will be additional "rules" like no painting/writing or no gathering of minerals/metals. I also did a few strictly gardening rags to riches, which got harder recently due to a patch and harvestables not becoming more valuable over time - makes it more fun, in my opinion. Playing this way is so rewarding to me, as you really appreciate being able to afford simple things, like a bookcase or a shower.
- I used to get really bored playing the sims because I used motherlode and built a huge pretty house right at the beginning and then felt there was nothing left to work towards. In the past couple of months I've been playing without cheats and making my sims earn every simoleon, I find the game has been much more fun and I've been playing for longer periods of time. I'd give it a go if I were you, you'll enjoy it
- I'm doing a rags to riches challenge right now! I enjoy them because I always have time kind of task to do with my sims. I've found I get bored with my sims when they have a lot of money and a nice house and all I'm left doing is sending them to work and school every day.
- I have always let my sims buy the prettiest house and then if we need stuff they have to earn it but like some of you said it gets boring. I do tend to have my sims makes lots of babies so thats fun but even now thats getting a little boring. I def think Im going to try some of the ideas you guys suggested. The gardening one sounds hard and fun.
- AfterMidnight13New SpectatorI did this challenge once with Eliza Pancakes. After Bob cheated on her with Katrina Caliente, Eliza divorced him and found herself penniless. She took to painting and eventually selling her paintings in a store to make money. Eventually she went on to marry Malcolm Landgraab and they had triplets. I was bored of that save at that point so I stopped playing it.
- Meka3211Rising NewcomerI did a Rags to Riches. But after Gen 1, I decided to turn it into a full Legacy Challenge, which I'm in Gen 6 now. But in the R2R's, my Sim used Gardening & Fishing as her method to get money. She married at some point, and her husband didn't have a job either and he lived off the land with her. It's been so fun to see this through a legacy perspective. I was able to complete the challenge in full in Gen 1. So all my future Generations, they were allowed to have jobs and stuff. But it's been a blast starting off with just a tent, building a home and seeing the Forrester Legacy flourish as they now have $4.3 million dollars. That's been the best part.....seeing how far the family has come.

I watched a video by The sim supply on youtube and one of his videos was doing rags to riches and it seems like lots of fun. Anyone do it? How did you do yours?
Look up Pinstar. He takes the time to explain it.- Thank you! I will go do that now. I have never done challenges before but this one looked like a lot of fun.
