Royal Kingdom Challenge - another version!
Hello Simmers!
As I was reading through the Royal Kingdom challenge, I came up with my own version, so I decided to share it with you. :) If you have any suggestions or questions, let me know! :)
You play this challenge for 10 generations (or more), so I recommend a story progression mod (until we get a story in the base game). ;)
Disclaimer: When I use the word "masculine" or "feminine", I mean the "stereotypical" stuff. I myself am against genderization and stereotypes but for this purpose I use these medieval terms.
Once upon a time in CAS
Create your first royal couple - the King and the Queen. Both must look as noble as possible.
King: "masculine" traits (e.g. materialistic, hot-headed) and aspirations (e.g. mansion baron)
Queen: "feminine" traits (e.g. romantic, art lover) and aspirations (e.g. painting, music)
The family-oriented ones would better work with the Queen and the world-dominating ones with the King.
Every member of the family has to have among their traits also either Good or Evil! (And act to them in the game.)
PLUS: Create a servant for cooking! If you want, you can hire a maid but she doesn't cook.
Every generation should have their clothing designed in a certain color. You can choose whatever colors you like, I made this list for myself:
generation (i.e. the King and the Queen): red
generation: royal blue
generation: dark green
generation: golden/yellow
generation: purple
generation: brown
generation: pink
generation: black
generation: orange
generation: silver/white
Let's build!
You can use money cheats to build a very expensive castle with the best equipment. Use the largest lot.
Rooms needed:
In the castle you cannot use electronics (maybe a fridge or a stove would be acceptable)! If possible, the lighting should be just candles. If an aspiration or a career requires an electronic appliance, lock it in the basement (and allow in the Sim who needs it).
Now the Life part!
Family funds should be §50 000.
Life lenght should be set on medium.
All sims have their Good or Evil choice crucial and should act to it.
You can use your phone just for the necessary things (nanny, parties).
Goal: complete at least 4 female and 4 male aspirations.
School: Only male sims are allowed to go to school. Female sims are taught at home (reading books, learning to play an instrument, ...)
Career: Only male sims are allowed to have a "masculine" job (recommended are those helping to complete their aspiration). Female sims stay at home and pursue their own aspirations.
Kids: The royal couple is allowed max. 3 children. Each kid must have either the Good or Evil trait.
You must hire a nanny. The Queen is too busy completing her aspiration. But she can play with the children.
You dress the kids in the color of their generation.
Heir: The oldest son, if there isn't a son, the oldest daughter becomes the heir. If the monarch dies childless, you are allowed to adopt.
Every king should build up charisma. (Queens don't have to.)
Looking for a spouse:
From oldest to youngest.
Male sims wander the town and are looking for the perfect one. She should look noble and have "feminine" traits and aspiration.
For the female sims their parents throw up (formal) parties in the ball room to find the perfect man ("masculine" traits and aspiration).
It doesn't matter if the spouse doesn't have the Good or Evil trait, you can later change it through a cheat. You are not allowed to change the remaining traits. Only exchange this one. And through a wardrobe change their clothing to more royal looking (same with hair).
Wedding: When they have found the perfect one, you are allowed to get married. The heir brings their spouse to the castle, the rest of the children move out with their spouses. And WooHoo no sooner than after the marriage!
Death:
The throne goes to the heir when the king dies. If the Queen dies, it's up to you if you pass it to the heir already. If anyone from the family (not the servant) dies, you must hang black curtains out of the windows for one week. You keep their grave in the graveyard on the lot.
The heir, according to their Good or Evil choice, can follow their family's lead or pursue their own way.
BONUS - RITUALS: Every royal family has its own rituals. Create your own and pursue it throughout generations! (So the Evil heir can rebel against it sometimes.)
E.g. every child must spend their YA birthday night outside in the garden or the Queen after the King's death will spend every sunday by the river or on the beach
The possibilites are endless!
10th GENERATION:
You now have completed the challenge just in time! A new millenium starts and technology develops so quickly! Now you can decide if you want to stay "oldfashioned" or adapt to the changes. Maybe women could start wear pants? Color or cut their hair? And what about the television? With the appliances, it's one piece per generation. Time flies by so quickly!
Have fun Simmers and let me know if you have any suggestions or questions!
Have a wonderful day :)
