Serious Need for Romantic Interactions Update

I am always hopeful about something new romantic exchange wise with each update, but always get sorely disappointed. People always complain that Sims don't interact as much as they should or used to like in other packs, but yet every patch comes around people want stupid stairs instead pfft lol I'm always hopeful for...

LOYALTY trait/goal especially if a couple is married
SLOW DANCING
Hand holding while walking together somewhere
Snuggling in bed
Woohoo in shower

I'm sure there could be others, but these are my main ones. For me the first three are the most important. Couples don't feel like couples in this game. Dancing aside, the loyalty thing seriously annoys me. ANY Sim at any time with any traits can flirt shamelessly with another Sim and frankly it's irritating and stupid. If I wanted my Sims to be jerks or players that's fine, but I don't want that, but that option isn't given. If people can have their Sims be free to marry whatever sex they'd like, the same should be if they want them to be loyal or not. The hand holding would be perfect in "go here together" prompts. Following each other around like a tag along is dumb. If I go on a date with someone I don't trot behind them like a puppy. I'm at their side either holding their hand or with my arm around them. The last two I heard were in other Sims games and wonder why they haven't put them in 4 yet. I hope that maybe one day our cries will be heard about this. I know I'm not the only one hoping for these to happen as I've seen them mentioned in random threads. The Romantic Gardens pack should have easily allowed a few of these things to happen...I guess I'll just sit and wait and be hopeful for one of these or all to actually happen and hopefully it'll be in a patch. We all have been patient long enough and deserve a useful update to bring Sims couples more to life instead of another dumb chair in build mode.

  • I definitely agree on the loyalty aspect. And Shower Woohoo. While I like that some of my sims can be players, I also think it was an oversight not to consider the people who are in happy relationships. I hate having to pretend that couples of mine who are dedicates soulmates of one another have technically been cheating on one another when I'm not playing them. I avoid the Romance festival at all costs, because that's just a nightmare.
  • Flirty Falls the waterfalls in front of the bridge in Selvadaro gets sims in the mood as does one of the berries your sim can eat.

Indeed, but neither were flirty or in the mood for anything. They certainly didn't eat and the museum isn't near the falls :P

They'd cheat if you don't play them, like rotating households you mean? And yeah I think it was really REALLY stupid they didn't have a loyalty thing put into the game. When my Sim can be dusting off an artifact and some random person comes by and he says something flirty to her when he wasn't even flirty (didn't think focused resulted in that) it makes no sense. It's truly lame and annoying. I hate penning up my boys and not letting them out to some places because of stuff like this, but stuff like this is exactly why they do things away from crowds if at all possible. The Romance Festival, however, was odd for me. I sent one there on his own and he was literally sad and moping around there without his husband. Soon as hubby got off work I sent him to the festival and they found each other, smooched, and sat at a bench chatting away until the festival was over. It's funny, the places you'd expect flirting doesn't do anything, but places that shouldn't DO.....I still think that doing that soul mate aspiration should have did something way more than what it did....loyalty, dedication SOMETHING to prove why you're soulmates.

Romance updates should include (just my opinion:)

    Slow dancing
    Shower woohoo
    Spooning/cuddling on/in bed
    More kiss types
    Loyalty trait
    Player trait
Reputation (is loyal, is a player, in the middle)
    Zodiac signs/chemistry
Option for a sim to offer their neck to a vampire if they're in a romantic relationship

    Just my two simoleans :)

Yes. I play rotationally, and for a while, before they fixed relationship culling, nearly all my sims were cheating on each other. I've just had to use cheats to set those relationships back to zero, and pretend they never happened in the first place. But it angers me every time I look in their friendship panel, and I see where there used to be romantic relationships with people that never would have existed in the first place if my households hadn't been affected by that nightmare.

That's horrible and yet another reason why I'm not willing to play another household :( Is that fixed now though or is there still that danger? It's really stupid that this relationship loyalty isn't something that would be put into the game in the first place. If they can allow cheating and playing the field they certainly can allow for loyalty and proper bonding. I'm sure this is an easy fix and something that can be tossed in with a patch. It's the most important thing I would love to see fixed/added. I'm glad to see lots of other people feel the same way too. Hopefully one day our wishes for that will come true and have a few other of these suggestions tossed in for good measure.
