Build-n-Share Challenge #70 - Eco-ExistanceChallenge Deadline: 7th June 2017You arrive at Oakenstead in Willow Creek, the lot is completely empty and you check your phone to ensure you are indeed at the right place, but there is no signal. The place feels so calm and peaceful, you go and take a seat on the lush green grass, you lie back and watch the clouds floating across the sky.
The sound of a cough startles you awake, and you see a man with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, with a definite five o’clock shadow across his jaw. He is wearing cargo pants and a vest top stood above you.
“I see the magic of this place has calmed you also. It has such an amazing energy here, don’t you think?” His voice is lilting and comforting.
“Yes, it is very calming here isn’t it, almost as if a spell has been cast on the place.”
“Indeed, the house that was here felt, I don’t know, off, so when I purchased the land I just demolished the place.”
It’s only when he says this that you realise that it’s your client, Matthew Glenn!
“Wow, so you just tore the old place down? That’s brave!”
“Yes, feel I want to live in a more simple time, when we lived with the land instead of against it. You might have noticed that there’s no cell reception, I’ve had a blocker installed. Oh and there’s no electricity coming either.”
“That’s, um…” Struggling to come up with a word other than crazy, you say “Brave” again. Feeling a bit of a dolt, you ask.
“So, what do you need from me?”
“Well, I have no clue how to landscape and I really don’t want this place to become an eyesore, Willow Creek is such a beautiful area. I was hoping you’d be able to create me a campsite type space. I had $280,938 which bought me the lot and the old house, then I had to spend $10,000 on demolition costs, which leaves me with $10,000 left to spend on getting this place started. I hope to become pretty self-sufficient, and get enough cash together to build myself a proper home in a while. Who knows, you might be hearing from me again!
You really hope that Matthew makes a go of his homestead style lifestyle, it would be lovely to come back and help him build his home.
Brief:A campsite style space, including
⤏ Cheapest tent, outdoor shower and toilet
⤏ A campfire and some chairs.
⤏Also one indoor and one outdoor trash can.
⤏ Other allowed items are Chess table, Guitar, Cooler, Easel, Bonsai Tree, Yoga Mat, Work Bench, Meditation Stool, and/or Punching (Boxing) Bag, any lighting that is candle powered.
⤏ NO walls, fences, roofing.
⤏ You may use any remaining funds to landscape your lot.
⤏ $10,000 budget
Note: This challenge works best
with the Outdoor Retreat pack, but is still doable without it, substitute the tent with the cheapest bed, and the campfire with the cheapest grill.
This challenge has been inspired the amazing @euphorialqueen and her inspired #EcoExistence gameplay challenge. You can find out more
here. You can add in the #EcoExistence tag for your builds and your Sims.
Sim Challenge: For the Sim challenge, please create Matthew, with any traits and aspiration you wish, and play through stage one of EQ’s gameplay challenge. You cannot travel to any other region or area in Willow Creek. Remember stage one ends when you reach $50,000 in reserve and have one skill at level 10. There is no electricity, so no computers, no phones, no stereos. We would love to see what he gets up to in your games!

ENTRY DETAILS: Lot has a "Sunny Aspect, lots of "Natural Light" and is an excellent "Home Studio".
This lovely campsite has all the amenities of home with shower, a log sink, towels, toilet & paper, plenty of coffee and a nice stack of logs for the fire where he cooks most of what he gets to eat. Bounded with Aloe Vera Plants was a good idea as Matthew has twice burned himself in the fire and Aloe Vera is good for burns. The lot has 2 fish ponds and one fore diving into. There a quite a few trees but not so many as to keep out the light. There are plenty of wild flowers as well as some planted garden flowers. Seating are log benches and a stump as suites a camp but Matthew also has the luxury of a proper table to eat at and even room for a guest to join him. It has a punching bag for fitness, a guitar for entertainment and income, a "belly flop of the ancients" in keeping with the rustic camping theme and the other decorative rocks. There is one candle lamp, note pad and pen for keeping notes, a stack of general supplies and dry goods as well as the cooler. There is plenty of open green space for cloud or star gazing. The wide cobbled stone walkways will also serve as the future driveway as he had to sell his pic-up truck for lack of funds in this round. A standard mail box collects both royalties and bills.

ENTRY DETAILS: Observant, Collector, Angling Ace, Creative visionary, Speed Reader, loves the outdoors, Always Welcome, Great Story Teller, both a night owl and a morning Sim, Out Going and artistically ambitious. Matthew earned 140898 ( today / deadline) in a combination of painting, whims, fishing and song royalties as well as making the aspiration grades as an Angling Ace and now has a new aspiration, to become a Painter Extraordinaire. He had a pic-up truck but had to sell it for lack of funds, he still has the driveway. Matthew's main income has been painting, having created quite a few gallery worthy master pieces that sold for considerable sums. He loves diving into the pond and does so after each completed painting. The remaining 6-7 days he is able to relax and enjoy some other activities and socialize with passers-by. He was abducted once and loves to tell the dramatic story about it. Matthew is an expert in guitar playing and song composition as well as fishing and painting. He has been very happy in his private campground, eating a lot of fish, apples and pomegranates which he obtained while fishing. He is also on a steady diet of yogurt and granola. He now has 2 licensed songs and has collected a few royalties on 1 of them. Matthew pays all his bills, knowing that at a future date he will need the utilities in his house. His diverse interests have served him well!
He has now suffered the second abduction! Aliens seem to like him!

ENTRY DETAILS: Oakenstead Camp is a fisherman's dream. No expenses were spared in the stocking of these ponds. It also has both kinds of magic trees and entry to the cave available to those who've completed level one. I'm not sure if this is acceptable for the game challenge, it just didn't seem that it would make much difference in game play other than making getting to hidden areas more convenient.

SIM ENTRY SLIDESHOW:http://imgur.com/a/W9C0s
ENTRY DETAILS: Matthew is a Master Landscape Painter who has managed to earn enough money with his paintings to build himself a home. Despite having no contact with the outside world, except his fishing club, "The Happy Campers", he's become quite the gardener, athlete, cook, charismatic and of course, fisherman, but has room for improvement in all of these areas. Matthew has learned a lot through living off the land. He's independent, a super green thumb, incredibly friendly, observant, a morning sim, a creative visionary and completed his aspiration of becoming a Natural Leader with his club. He's recently taken up chess, guitar, woodworking and meditation but could use a lot of help honing these skills. Miraculously, through the miracle of modern youth potions, he hasn't aged a day since he first entered the 'wilderness'. QUESTION: Should I upload him without skills so others can use him in the EcoExistence challenge? I was unclear here as it seemed the point of the SIM challenge was to get him to level two.
