I was inspired to build this because house boats, or boats in general remind me of July. As a child I grew up camping, going to lakes, sailing on the ocean, and on the fourth of July we would watch the fireworks going off over the ocean. Boats have a special place in my heart, as does July. I hope everyone enjoys this build!

ENTRY DETAILS: Every summer we go to the same place for vacation in July, a quiet, "sleepy" fishing village on the "forgotten coast" of Florida. We have rented several different places in the area, each being dramatically different and in different areas. This year we rented a tall Skinny condo with lots of stairs, I was able to pretty much recreate the floor plan. Our RL condo did not have a toddler room though, our 1 year old had to sleep in a paknplay in our room and it was a nightmare, especially the night someone gave her a bunch of Coca Cola at dinner when I wasn't looking. So wanted to put all these different elements into my build, of the sea (we haul our boat down there and take it to a beautiful island you can only get to by boat or ferry and spend a lot of time out there with my father in law trying to kill us on said boat), Independence Day (with different shades of red, white and blue, that's in July), Coca Cola stuff (for the funny memory), nature (there are tons of wildlife management state parks in the area), outside life with pool and picnic table (we usually play corn hole and place bets on things such as who will do the dishes, etc. No corn hole so I used the horse shoe set.) the kids room (set up with pink and blue to be for either or gender, custom tea time set up with plenty to keep the tots entertained). The lot is right next to the park with lots of grills so no need to have our own with one so close. The upstairs den has a daybed for extra sleeping room as many vacation rentals have. CC, debug & Moo used. Thanks! Super excited about entering in my first 4 BnS!! I've had trouble getting into 4 but the good CC out helps me tie things together better now without my beloved color wheel and patterns.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: yes! But please be kind it's only the 3rd house I've built in 4.

ENTRY DETAILS: So, I've always had a summer trip. Because I live in Connecticut and my parents don't want to spend a lot of money (except for this year. We're going to Oregon to see the Solar Eclipse.) I'm used to theses style of houses. This one is inspired by Maine, which is one of my favorite places to go. So, it's a super traditional New England house. Also, my family is the epitome of New England. We make our own Maple Syrup every fall/winter and we're huge Boston Red Sox fans.

ENTRY DETAILS: Build is based on an old harbor ferry I lived on as a youth while working as a deck hand on Smiths Wharf in Halifax. (My boss would take the ships wheel home with him every night to prevent the ship being taken out), Winters were HE!! but Summer was glorious and some of my fondest memories were created on that old harbor ferry. My neighbors lived on an old battleship. No TVs, PCs or modern appliances. We eat a lot of fish and fresh fruit was a huge treat. Being young and plum, we often played chicken in small harbor craft. A life to survive and thrive! ; not so much for the lucky Keibler Sims. Decor and colors are all typical nautical themed, mostly whites and blues. The metal boxes in the main hall are representative of a closed gas motor (that often took fair amounts of ether to get it to start!) The ships wheel would have been in an enclosed bridge in front of the saloon (living room) if I were true to the original and the dining area and galley were about a quarter of the size of the challenge build. Still, if I'd had my way, the original "White Seal" would have looked more like the Deck Hand's Dream! I could be quite happy in such accommodations still! As anyone familiar with ships will know, I have taken huge liberties in the designing of this build to accommodate B'N'S challenge #74. Landscaping is all done with "debug" plants and rocks. CONTAINS CC (ships wheel, light houses and life preserver) and LOTS of MOO.

HEREENTRY DETAILS: Casa Masiyahin, which means "House of Joy" in Tagalog, is a 3 bedroom/2 bath home with plenty of space for family reunions. July is monsoon season in the Philippines, but it can be severely hot as well, so the house has many airy spaces to let air flow. It's also the time when I attend family reunions. I built this house remembering all the family reunions I've attended, so the house has typical Filipino home fixtures on the ground floor, like a basketball hoop, karaoke machine, a mahjong table, and a piano no one ever plays. The second floor is where the hosting family's rooms are, which is usually off-limits to visitors. It also includes a study and a personal gym. Filipino homes are usually gated and have walls around the perimeter.

ENTRY DETAILS:
This build was inspired by an Island cottage my family stays at for 1-2 weeks during the summer and autumn for deer hunting season. We’ve been going there for decades ever since an ancestor built a log cabin there. The original family cabin is gone now, but some of our relatives own another cottage on the Island and we rent another particular cottage on the beach every year when we’re able.
It’s a very special, secluded, quiet and beautiful place full of pristine wilderness that means a lot to our family. We’ve celebrated birthdays and holidays such as Independence Day and Thanksgiving on the Island and have made many, many treasured memories together. The Island is accessible by a car ferry or an airport which can accommodate small planes and commuter jets.
It has only 45 year round residents, but the population blossoms to around 1500 during the summer. There isn’t much development on the Island other than cottages, no hotels, etc., but it does have one combination store/restaurant/gift shop/gas station, one tavern, a one room school house, fire station, post office, coast guard museum, community center, a lighthouse, a few campsites on the north shore, three small lakes and the harbor.
All the roads are gravel or dirt two-tracks besides the cottage driveways. It’s strongly encouraged if you take a car there to bring along a chainsaw. You never know when a trail could be blocked by a blow down. o.O
We love it there and hope to go again soon.
Our cottage actually has four bedrooms that can sleep up to 10 people and only one bathroom, so I made one of the bedrooms into a bathroom upstairs. There should be a dirt driveway out back from the main road too. It’s surrounded by a lot more trees too, but the budget wouldn’t allow for it. The front is all sandy beach too. I did the best I could with the few packs I have. I’m happy with how it turned out and I hope y’all like it too.:)
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM: Yes, please and thank you!
