Build-n-Share Challenge #76 - We're Going Deeper UndergroundChallenge Deadline: Wednesday 30th August 2017 Terrance Cophus hates people. He loathes them with a passion. If he had any choice he wouldn't even be in here talking to you. As it is, he doesn't entirely believe you won't screw up what he wants. And you know all of this because he tells you, in blunt terms that leave no question of his feelings.
You swallow a sigh and put a polite smile on your face. "Don't worry Mr Cophus. I will do everything in my power to give you exactly what you want."
"Don't you patronize me." He snaps, glaring at you.
"That wasn't my intent," you say soothingly. "I'm sorry if you feel I was." You can already tell that there is nothing that is going to make this meeting a good one. "What would you like in your house?" You ask, clicking your pen to take notes.
After several moments of sullen silence, he speaks grudgingly. "I want it far away from people. And I want it 2 stories."
"All right," you agree, taking notes.
"I want a vegetable garden and lots of trees on top."
You blink, "On top? On the roof?"
"No. On the ground," he snaps.
"Oh, all right. How many bedrooms would you like?"
"2."
"And how many bathrooms?"
"2. I don't want no one pushing into my room if they have to stay." He grumbles.
"Will it just be you?" you ask curiously.
"No." Terrance's glower grows deeper. "And the boy."
"The boy?"
"My son. Just got custody of him. Can't sleep outside now can he?"
"No, you're right. Ok, a suite for you and a suite for him. Anything else?"
"Yeah. I want it underground." He snarls as you give him a surprised look, "Don't look so shocked Architect who builds houses for fairies. I want my house underground."
You recover quickly, "Of course Mr.Cophus. I can do that." Now the trees on top request makes more sense to you. "I'm going to assume you would prefer that the lot look as natural as possible."
"Yes. It ain't a park. Don't want no trespassers."
"Yes, Mr Cophus." You jot down a few more notes. "Did you have a budget?"
"80K. And not a penny more! So if your people don't do their jobs right you'll just have to pay for it." He says emphatically, eyes narrowing.
You strangle your desire to reach over and hurt him, "So noted Mr Cophus."
"Good. When can you get done?" Terrance demands, getting up.

ENTRY DETAILS: Terrance is a stern father who hates being connected with the outside world, unlike his son Peter who loves to make friends and
be popular. Terrance's wife had a car accident and the doctors could not save her, she was the only person who managed to open the heart of Terrance, but after her death he closed herself further and became hyper-protective with her son, fearing that the outside world could hurt Peter as it happened to Terrance.

ENTRY DETAILS: As per request, the house is practically invisible blending in with the surrounding landscape. The front door is obscured and locked to all but family. This is clearly a home for for a grumpy man with muted and dark tones. Art is at a minimum as the preference was for more serious scientific prints and emblems of business success. He even hung a warning sign in the bathroom to tell people to keep it clean.Terrance is such a fuss budget he even mops the garden after watering the plants! His son, Peter, makes up for his Dad's dreary tastes by putting up lots of his own colorful stuff. Terrance is a good father, though he is a grumpy loner with the exception of Peter, whom he seems to enjoy a great deal! They play basketball together, watch movies, fish (A Lot!) and cook for each other, Both seem very contented with this very strange abode!

ENTRY DETAILS: Like Father, Like Son! Both are speed readers, great story tellers, always welcome, observant, collectors, night owls, morning Sims, neat and loners. They are friends only with each other though they CAN mentor in guitar, fishing and painting. Clearly talented and ambitious~ There is a very strong family resemblance. Both are working at improving skills in cooking, comedy, gardening and fitness and Terrance is trying hard to become an excellent parent.

ENTRY DETAILS: I chose steampunk because it is the ideal style for an unusual personality. Is the style that rescues the best of civilization that would be kept in a bunker. This bunker is the perfect shelter but it is also cozy. I do not think the signs are enough to drive people away so I hired some gardeners to give a toxic touch to the landscaping. I´m sure people will flee from toxic waste (but we know they are fake, I hope...). The vegetable garden has natural light, this helps not to have a claustrophobic environment even if you live in a basement. Also the vegetables are more delicious Note: The dining room only has two chairs, I do not think our client has dinner guests. Btw I love building something I will use in my gameplay

Bunker build based on an actual bunker layout you can buy XD Also got a gym/living area where the guys can work out out just hang out and watch some tv. Chess in the lower floor landing along with a computer do da. Outside walls are all stone. I dunno tried to make a 2 story man cave. LOL, not many pictures because vertigo is not my friend right now and spinning the camera in tab was holy plum! Got a wee little garden upstairs. Nothing fancy but hey haven't built in awhile though i'd sneak this one in under the wire

HEREENTRY DETAILS: Bunker 706 was formerly owned by the military and was later converted into a home, after the military thought that the "Big War" wouldn't happen after all. It is tucked away in a natural forest, hidden from prying eyes. It comes with an enclosed vegetable garden, a military-grade exhaust system, and a former storm drain, which for some reason, is home to plenty of spiders. The furnishings have been renovated to give it a more vibrant glow, a far cry from its formerly spartan interior. The mix of modern and industrial features are a testament to the bunker's origin as a military fixture.

HEREENTRY DETAILS: Terrance dislikes people in general, so he built a bunker to get away from everything. He is highly protective of his lot and vegetable garden, which is why he keeps everything in the bunker under surveillance. Peter has more of his mom's traits, being his father's voice of reason in most situations. He also does the cooking and cleaning around the house, which Terrance detests doing. He aspires to be strong mentally and physically someday. The problem is that Peter hates bugs. Terrance's traits are Loner, Loves the Outdoors, and Mean. Peter's traits are Squeamish and Outgoing.

Hidden AcresENTRY DETAILS: Terrance Cophus ex-wife has remarried and no longer wants to care for their young son, Peter. One morning Terrance wakes up to find the child sitting with his suitcase outside the barbed wire fence Terrance relies on to keep visitors away. A note pinned to his jacket simply says, "He's your headache now." Terrance is a man of few words and the ones that come to mind in this situation are not fit for a youngster's ears so he sighs heavily, takes his son's hand and leads him to town in search of someone to build him a home in which to raise his son.
Terrance is not a poor man but he's never been one to spend money on what he considers "creature comforts." At least not until Peter became a permanent fixture in his life. For Peter, Terrance is willing to soften and bend. A TV and a fireplace? Sure, if that will make his boy more comfortable. A modern up to date kitchen. Ok, that too. Knick Knacks? Maybe a few.
Bedrooms. That's one thing that gives Terrance pause. He loves the outdoors and is happiest when he can sleep in a tent outside. So how do you make an underground home make a man like Terrance happy? Bring some natural light into his life and give him some outdoor living space even underground.
Terrance has made it clear that one thing that isn't negotiable about his new living space -- it may be a comfortable home to raise his family in but it isn't open to guests and curiosity seekers who only want to poke their noses in other people's business and bring awful fruitcake. Landscaping is out of the question unless it's to add to the brambles and thorns that seem to grow everywhere. Cleaning out the old swimming hole is out of the question. Murky water will do just fine for both him and the boy. Barbed wire fencing keeps anyone from climbing in and messing with Terrance's garden.
For the moment, Terrance seems happy with his new abode.

Terrance and Peter CophusENTRY DETAILS: Terrance is a bit of a hermit and a curmudgeon. One day his ex-wife leaves their son Peter on his doorstep and Terrance discovers he has a softer side. Will the responsibility of a young son bring out the best in Terrance?
Terrance loves the outdoors, is a genius and a bit of a snob. He is skilled up in handiness, gardening, cooking, herbalism, fitness, programming and video gaming -- all skills someone who would live off the grid must have. He hasn't yet decided if he needs to look for a respectable job -- Secret Agent? Mad Scientist? Or just a stay at home dad?
As for his son, Peter -- I left him a bit of a clean slate. He's artistic and self assured and ready to learn.

I know the lot isn't "natural", but it is a lot to keep people away and from knowing there's a home underneath, so I hope it counts. If not...well..no one's fault but my own! It's built on Widowshild Townhome in Forgotten Hollow. It's a cemetery and crypt with basement vault with hidden entrance to the apartment below that.

ENTRY DETAILS:Terrance found Diane to be tolerable, in small doses. It was the kindest he'd ever felt toward anyone but eventually the went their separate ways. 15 years later, she showed up at his doorstep with teenaged boy in tow. "He's your son, you put some sense into his head. I've had it." and she left him there. Now Terrance has to deal with a hip hop DJ wannabe and Peter, his son, has to deal with a very uncool dad...who just happens to be a vampire. Who will end up embarrassing whom? I called them "Undead or Uncool?"
