#BnS100 - Oceanside Resort

“Your appointment with Mr. Pascua is here,” Karl says over the intercom.
“Thank you, Karl. Please send him in.”
You rise to greet the man as he enters, impressed with his build. You aren’t sure what you had in mind but he seems to be almost a bodybuilder!
“Thank you for agreeing to see me on such short notice,” he says as you motion towards the chair.
“Not at all, I’m happy to fit you in,” you reply with a smile. “Now, your assistant said something about a resort?”
“An ocean-side resort and hotel,” he confirms.
“That’s quite a project,” you say, but love the idea. This town could use something special to draw more tourists.
“Economy is up, people want to travel. But they need a place to stay when they do.”
“Makes sense. What scale are you thinking?”
“Well, it depends. I’d like something with some flexibility, some standard rooms but also some nicer suites. A pool would be a nice touch, but maybe an ocean swim is good enough? Some outdoor activities, of course. Perhaps a lounge or restaurant for the local community to enjoy as well, especially in the off season to keep the place open.”
He speaks very rapidly but you scribble all that down.
“I also want it to really stand out! I want people to see it and think, ‘yeah, that’s where I want to go.’ So nothing too small or too blended in, but don’t let it clash, either. It should fit the town but still draw your attention.”
You nod. “I understand completely. How many guests will you want to accommodate?”
“I’d like at least 8 rooms. Three with one double bed, three with two double beds, and two luxury suites. If you can fit more in for the budget, then please do, but I don’t want to feel that the resort suffered just for more people. There must be a reason for them to come, after all. “
“Of course. Now, about the budget…”
THE BRIEF
Build a hotel and resort with at least 8 rooms.
3 furnished with one double bed, 3 furnished with 2 double beds, 2 luxury suites. All must have attached bathrooms
Provide a lobby, reception area and admin office
Provide landscaping
Style should reflect the town it is built in, but stand out
Provide at least one indoor and one outdoor activity or entertainment
BUDGET: 750k total budget (includes the lot cost)
Room Challenge: Create the resort lobby, you have §50k to play with.
Sim Challenge: Show us the Sims who are visiting the resort, can be anyone, any traits etc just show them enjoying their vacation.

The only things that unfortunately I could not get to be functional are the stools in the pool, I kept them there for the look, I wish they could be functional though.

#BnS100 The building belonged to the Countess Silvia De Paffys of Stranizia mysteriously disappeared on a full moon night. After years of neglect it was finally bought by a wealthy businessman who renovated it and two new wings were added. He then turned it into a modern resort with a touch of elengagement from the past. I hope you like it and have followed all the rules! Included in this building: 10 total rooms: 2 penthouse suites, 4 double beds, 3 with 2 double beds, 1 double single beds, all rooms have their own bathroom and TV, the suites include a kitchen. ENTRY DETAILS: I reimagined the Windenburg island as a Greek themed one. The Blue Sunrise Hotel is the perfect place to relax during your vacation. Here you will find your zen and you will leave with a perfect tan. With a huge infinity pool, a sea-food restaurant, yoga classes offered daily, a relaxing massage inside a cave, and a gift shop to buy all your souvenirs. The hotel is built on a cliff and flora is growing all around it, there are aquariums around the hallways replicating the Greek reefs with its fish. At 12 o'clock you can hear the church bells ringing from the belfry, the waves of the sea and the sound of the seagulls.

ENTRY DETAILS: This resort hotel, while not on the oceanside, fits very well into Oasis Springs. The Topaz Sands Hotel was loosely based upon the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, AZ. My hotel features 8 uniquely designed guest rooms, including a 2-story loft suite and a large presidential suite. The Topaz Sands also boasts several resort amenities. Outdoors is a large pool, hot tub cabana, outdoor food shacks, a children’s play space, telescope and beautifully landscaped garden spaces. Indoors the guests will find a lovely lobby and breakfast cafe, while upstairs guests can use the hotel conference room, catch the latest movie or use the office to check into work. Also on the ground floor is the spacious Breezes gym with spa treatments including a sauna. At night guests can grab dinner at the Oasis restaurant and bar or party in the Mirage Nightclub.

ENTRY DETAILS: This family is ready to hit the boardwalk. Holly's not too happy with the Sand Bar Resort & Hotel, but the kids, who aren't happy about anything, seems to be loving it. They're not planning on spending too much time in the room anyway. Wayne is determined to give this dysfunctional family a good vacation at the boardwalk in brindleton, and hopefully catch some fish too!

ENTRY DETAILS: I chpose Brindleton Bay to build in. It's my favourite world and one I find more comfortable building in as I prefer the build and buy items. I decided on a beach-style hotel, with individual rooms accessed through their own front doors and porches. The luxury apartments get their own private space at the back of their rooms and have more luxury fittings. I also really wanted to include and outdoor barbecue area and also a stage area for performances outside at night time, one of my fondest memories of being on holiday. I chose to stick to blues and white but did make some of the rooms individualised.

ENTRY DETAILS: (This lot was originally built as a restaurant so I tried to make most tables and desks not really usable except for in the restaurant so people wouldn't be all over the place. This is why the family suite does not have a table and chairs for eating at.) Welcome to Anchors Aweigh Resort. A seaside family friendly resort. We have 2 full suites one design for families and one designed for newlyweds. The family suite has 3 separate bedrooms and baths. There are 2 double beds, one single and a toddler bed. Living space, small kitchenette and private decks. The honeymoon suite has a spacious living area with fireplace and a small kitchenette with a full bathroom on the first floor. Upstairs is a bedroom with private sun porch. A private hot tub for some romantic fun and separate bathrooms for those who aren't quite ready to share everything. We also have plenty of smaller rooms to fit any budget. 4 single full sized bed rooms and 4 double full sized bed rooms. As well as 2 single bed rooms. All have their own private bathrooms. You can enjoy dinner at our in house 'Under the Sea' restaurant, relax in the Red Rum lounge or spend a relaxing day in the sun by our anchor shaped pool. There are 2 small gyms on the third floor one for the men and one for the ladies. Don't worry if you have forgotten anything, we have a lovely little gift shop that offers a little bit of everything. Don't forget to swing by the lobby every morning for your complimentary coffee and pastries. We are just a short distance from the ocean and many little fun trails. We hope you will consider us for your next vacation. You will enjoy the stay at, Anchors Aweigh Resort.

Personally, I can't imagine a vacation spot more relaxing than Bora Bora (it is so remote that it may literally be the best place on Earth to get away from it all) which is why I wanted to recreate it for this challenge! The most important things that I wanted to recreate were Bora Bora's crystal clear waters, the look of its famous bungalows, and the fact that you are never more than a few steps away from the water when you're in Bora Bora. #BnS100

ENTRY DETAILS: Olita, Viktors and Lasma are staying at this luxury Black Swan suite at Barony Castle Hotel. Lasma has the room next doors. First they play horse shoe and meet some new friends. Later they will try out the gym. And meet some other hotel residents in the sauna. Olita meets a cool lady by the name Dagny and they want to take same glamour portrits of themselves. Later it is time for relax in hot tub with a magnicifant view over the ocean. Aftre that A good dinner with new friends. A comedy show and a concert. Some dancing and karaoke and maybe a night picninc.

ENTRY DETAILS: While I was looking for inspiration, one particular image kept coming up, so I decided to just go with it and do my best to recreate it. It also let me experiment with beams a bit more, which I'd wanted an excuse to do. Now if I we could just change ceiling colors, that would have been great. The rustic spandrels weren't my first choice, but they were the only ones without dangling end caps, which looked out of place.

ENTRY DETAILS:Ok, so this resort got a bit bigger than intended.... I like to imagine that at first there as the lighthouse, the old farmhouse and a chapel and over the course of a few years the owners kept adding little cottages to expand the resort. There are three luxury rooms, 1 room with a single bed, 5 rooms with double beds, 1 room with two singles, 2 rooms with three singles, 4 rooms with four singles and 3 rooms with two doubles. For dining there is the hotel dining room or the lighthouse restaurant (which is also open to the public). To spend time inside, there is a gym and a sauna, as well as regular boardgame evenings in the lobby and quiz nights at the restaurant bar. You rise to greet the man as he enters, impressed with his build. You aren’t sure what you had in mind but he seems to be almost a bodybuilder!
“Thank you for agreeing to see me on such short notice,” he says as you motion towards the chair.
“Not at all, I’m happy to fit you in,” you reply with a smile. “Now, your assistant said something about a resort?”
“An ocean-side resort and hotel,” he confirms.
“That’s quite a project,” you say, but love the idea. This town could use something special to draw more tourists.
“Economy is up, people want to travel. But they need a place to stay when they do.”
“Makes sense. What scale are you thinking?”
“Well, it depends. I’d like something with some flexibility, some standard rooms but also some nicer suites. A pool would be a nice touch, but maybe an ocean swim is good enough? Some outdoor activities, of course. Perhaps a lounge or restaurant for the local community to enjoy as well, especially in the off season to keep the place open.”
He speaks very rapidly but you scribble all that down.
“I also want it to really stand out! I want people to see it and think, ‘yeah, that’s where I want to go.’ So nothing too small or too blended in, but don’t let it clash, either. It should fit the town but still draw your attention.”
You nod. “I understand completely. How many guests will you want to accommodate?”
“I’d like at least 8 rooms. Three with one double bed, three with two double beds, and two luxury suites. If you can fit more in for the budget, then please do, but I don’t want to feel that the resort suffered just for more people. There must be a reason for them to come, after all. “

ENTRY DETAILS: I chpose Brindleton Bay to build in. It's my favourite world and one I find more comfortable building in as I prefer the build and buy items. I decided on a beach-style hotel, with individual rooms accessed through their own front doors and porches. The luxury apartments get their own private space at the back of their rooms and have more luxury fittings. I also really wanted to include and outdoor barbecue area and also a stage area for performances outside at night time, one of my fondest memories of being on holiday. I chose to stick to blues and white but did make some of the rooms individualised.

This is why the family suite does not have a table and chairs for eating at.) Welcome to Anchors Aweigh Resort. A seaside family friendly resort. ENTRY DETAILS: While I was looking for inspiration, one particular image kept coming up, so I decided to just go with it and do my best to recreate it. It also let me experiment with beams a bit more, which I'd wanted an excuse to do. Now if I we could just change ceiling colors, that would have been great. ENTRY DETAILS:Ok, so this resort got a bit bigger than intended.... I like to imagine that at first there as the lighthouse, the old farmhouse and a chapel and over the course of a few years the owners kept adding little cottages to expand the resort. There are three luxury rooms, 1 room with a single bed, 5 rooms with double beds, 1 room with two singles, 2 rooms with three singles, 4 rooms with four singles and 3 rooms with two doubles. For dining there is the hotel dining room or the lighthouse restaurant (which is also open to the public). To spend time inside, there is a gym and a sauna, as well as regular boardgame evenings in the lobby and quiz nights at the restaurant bar. Outside there is a fishing pond, a huge sports pool with the option of playing waterball or doing aqua fitness courses, a horseshoe rig and some herb gardening courses next to the old chapel. Of course, one can also relax in the hot tub or at the pool bar or go to the private beach on the left side of the property or do a quick hike at the public areas just next to the resort.
