#BnS118 - Spring Designer Showdown
The deadline for this challenge is 8th May 2019
It’s that time again - time to show off your awesome design skills! The celebration of the spring season around the globe is traditionally seen as a time of new beginnings. In that tradition, our attention will turn to the Goth’s home in Willow Creek, Ophelia Villa. Have you noticed it? Well, we sure have, and we’ve never seen a home in such a desperate need of a spring-time spruce up. Let’s release this grey eyesore from its current drab state and give it the new beginning it deserves!

As always, there are a few rules...
THE BRIEF:
You can change the window size, window type, and window placement as desired.
You can change the door size, door type, and door placement as desired.
You can change the color of any windows, doors or arches.
You can change the style, size, and location of any stairs.
You can delete any porches & railings and create new ones if you’d like.
You don’t need to keep any of the furnishings, landscaping, wallpaper, siding or flooring. It can all be changed/replaced.
The roofing can be replaced/modified as you wish.
You can save and place the home on any lot up to 40x40 in size in any world of your choice.
Interior walls can be deleted/re-arranged as you wish, and new walls can be added.
You cannot delete existing exterior walls, but you can add onto the build in any way you wish.
Current wall heights AND foundation heights must remain the same.
Equal attention in judging will be given to the new interior design, landscaping, and architectural design.
There’s no budget for this one - go crazy!
Sim Challenge:
Give Mortimer, Bella, Cassandra & Alexander a stylish makeover more fitting for their new beginning.
Room Challenge:
Make over the 3rd floor (uppermost) bedroom as a new bedroom space for either Alexander (Bookworm) or Cassandra (Gloomy, Creative, Muser). The current room footprint (6x6 with same stair placement) must remain the same as in the current build. Keep the traits of the sim you are designing for in mind.

ENTRY DETAILS: A spring revamp of the Ophelia home for the Goths. Interior walls were rearranged, new garden and fountain added to front lawn, new exterior/interior decorating, added sitting area to the back yard, as well as a line of trees for privacy, upstairs added a bbq area and a place for Cassandra to vlog about her conspiracy theories.

ENTRY DETAILS: I love natural light and I feel with as pale as the Goths are, they could use a little more sun. So I made sure there were a ton of floor to ceiling windows for them to soak up that Vitamin D. I kept the layout mostly the same, but I moved Alexander's bedroom downstairs so that I could make a gorgeous greenhouse on the roof that opens up to a picnic spot for grilling, karaoke, painting, and catching yourself on fire... In the front I added some fountains and landscaped around the front, side, and back. The backyard leads to on open patio, next to which is a gorgeous pink garden! This pink was carried throughout the house decor along with a nice spring green and baby blue. The whole house is now bright and cheery and actually livable. It's especially inviting since I took that awful imposing fence away. The Goths might not want visitors but now they might not have a choice with how welcoming it looks!
I would also like to take a moment to comment on the bathrooms. The second floor bathroom in particular is an eyesore. The walls are tiled in what can only be described as Pepto Bismol Pink. It's so pink it makes you sick. Kinda like Pepto Bismol. If the walls don't make your sim sick, the talking toilet cracking jokes sure will.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Goths family wanted to move a little out of their comfortzone. They wanted to go a little away from the grey and black colour scheme and add a little bit of Spring to their closet. Bella Goth has always love red too, but she added a shorter dress in red and a bit of pink and purple, Mortimer added blue and even pink to his closet, Cassandra added more modern black and white, pink in different shades, Alexander added green, purple and a bit of red to his closet. All stayed true to themselves. still stylish, just more modern and spring fashion.

I wanted to keep the quirky within the family, and simply enhance their styles, while also making them more fresh and spring-ready. To me, spring is more about re-birthing and renewing than actual light colors and spring motifs. Goth is a classy and well respected family, and I wanted to showcase that in their styles. I also wanted to keep the Goths in their usual color scheme, with the darker tones, and Bella's iconic red dress was a huge inspiration for all of the styles.
Mortimer's got a whole new mustache and a new hair do, as well as some more modern clothes, while keeping his own aesthetic. Bella, the most modern of the family, has also gotten a new hairstyle, but not too far from what she's comfortable with. Her outfits are modern yet sultry and sophisticated, much like before, but better. Cassandra is a total nerd, and I love that about her. I gave her a shorter hair style and some cute round glasses to match, as well as I enhanced her preppy yet nerdy normal style with some fresher clothes. Alexander is a little cutie, and I wanted to dress him like I think his parents would want him to dress. He's gotten some very dapper clothes and some new glasses to match, as well as a cute pompadour hairstyle.
The first picture shows the family's everyday outfits, while the second shows the highlights of the rest of their outfits.

ENTRY DETAILS: I chose to move the house to a bigger lot where the family had a bigger yard to enjoy and a better view. I also added on to the building to be able to make larger, more spacious rooms and hallways. The house was gutted inside, redesigned, and added on to. The original house exterior walls remain, although some doorways go through those walls. I also changed the windows and doors to give the house a more pleasing look. It has the Celebrity Home, Convivial, and Gnomes traits.

ENTRY DETAILS: This renovation of Ophelia Villa was designed to provide a new atmosphere with many opportunities to nurture positive growth and interactions for the entire Goth household. Ophelia Villa is now a classy & lovely home with features to encourage creativity and socialization. Special features include a lovely gazebo for sunny luncheons; a formal living room, a formal dining room, & a formal music room; a cheerful and homey kitchen and cook’s 4-season greenhouse stocked with multi-veggie, multi-fruit and multi-herb plants that will allow Bella to cook many new gourmet dishes for her family and friends while enjoying tending the small garden; it is cat-ready so they can welcome a new fur-baby, & so much more! Renovations have been made throughout the entire home and grounds. It was also designed for a brand new town (Brindleton Bay) to be situated on a lovely seaside lot!
Oh, and to make sure they can afford their new digs & social standing comfortably, a money tree has been included on the roof patio area.
It features the ‘Sunny Aspect’, ‘Home Studio’, and ‘Homey’ lot traits.

ENTRY DETAILS: "Spring at Ophelia Villa" History (and mystery) emanates from this tri-story #Gothic #mansion. Ophelia Villa has been re-done for #spring to lighten and brighten the best of what this mansion has to offer plus a few additions and deck expantions. #BnS118 #wildflower1971 #atrium. I added Two Atriums one on the first floor and one on the top floor also exspanded the wrap around deck owners can now walk from the front to the back via the deck and atrium on first floor and on second floor can enjoy the seating area to the front and able to walk to the back door second floor with out going inside. roof top is now a deck with an atrium attached to the top bedroom. Owners will have some of the prettiest veiws from this rooftop garden. Front entry was decked out in flowers with ivy cascading over the front of the building.

ENTRY DETAILS: This was a hard challenge. Deciding how to transform this home. As a goth myself i didn't want to lose the ''goth feel'' of the house to much. I saw the home as romantic and elegant but dark. So i wanted to try and make a romantic and elegant home, but bright. For this i used a lot of white marble, colors (gold,some pastels,some brighter) bridges and a gazebo. Of course as this was a Spring makeover i tried to keep in mind that spring means, warmer weather, means more time spend outside. So i moved the home to the biggest lot size that was allowed to expand the garden?. I also chose a spot that was somewhat secluded, spring means everyone will be spending more time outside, so the goths wisely moved away from all those spring-loving, happy neighbours brrrr... This spot is also perfectly surrounded by beautiful trees and it has a romantic oceanview.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Goth's home has got a much more modern look, giving it a new lease of life and much needed update from it's previous look. Keeping in line with the dark colours prefered by the family the house uses a black and white colour scheme, with accents of bright green for a touch of spring. Large windows give the home much more natural light and coupled with plenty of outdoor space give the family a chance to view the surroundings of their new Windenburg home.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Renovation of Ophelia Villa... Relocated to StrangerVille . Moved to the Shadey Acres Section of town..This beautiful 3 story Home now is set on the 40 x 30 lot of Plateau Place. "StrangerVille is known for its plateaus and unique rock formations. There is no better lot like Plateau Place to take all of that in. Providing the best views overlooking StrangerVille, this lot was the perfect place to renovate our dream home. Just ignore the strange lights coming from that crater." Knowing the History of the Goths and their Homes throughout the succession of games. I wanted to keep a bit of the Supernatural aura about them. Because the Goth family has featured in so many different games, there have been a variety of different homes for them. Every Goth home, besides the one in The Sims 4, contains its own graveyard. Each of the PC games, plus all the console editions, have shown ghosts haunting the mansions and scaring the inhabitants. Like the Goth's previous residences this home is haunted too.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Goth house has been redone in bright colors inside and out. I didn't want to completely modernize it, so there are still some Victorian and vintage elements mixed in with the modern plumbing and electronics. The old porches have been replaced with one long porch that wraps around form the front along the left side to the rear.

ENTRY DETAILS: I went kind of crazy on this one. The Goths are experiencing a total life change. The house has been moved to Oasis Springs and redesigned to suit their new southwestern lifestyle! I added to the 2nd floor to be able to put all three bedrooms on one floor, and added a rooftop activity area.

ENTRY DETAILS: A new room for Cassandra Goth! Her aspiration is to become a musical genius, so her room is packed with musical instruments. She's gloomy, creative and a muser. These traits will definitely help her achieve her goal, as will this room! For this challenge i decided to forgo the gothic style and go full spring mode.

ENTRY DETAILS: Makeover Time!! The Goth family is getting ready for spring and moving into their madeover home. I tried to go for simple, clean and bright looks. We did experiment with a little hair dye... Cool, bright blues for the parents, lovely violet for Cassandra, and bright blond for Alexander.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Goths have relocated to Strangerville to a Renovated Ophelia Villa. Its brighter , and grander.. So Now we have given them a more Stylish make over fitting for their new beginning. ( for me the Goths have always been associated with the Supernatural. I did not want to stray far from their Game History. So in this Make over - I threw in some occult..) This was a Fun make over .There are some surprises for this family.. Mortimer's relationship with Caleb Vatore from Forgotten Hollow has become close. Caleb called him up one day to ask him a serious question..I will never tell if Mortimer took him up on his offer... All I know is Bella finds him more alluring these days..

ENTRY DETAILS: Casa ni Doña Ofeliana, or "Doña Ofeliana's House" is the Goth home Ophelia Villa remodeled into a mansion with features from Filipino Colonial architecture. It has what the previous Goth home had, but with a new library wing with a dance hall included. There's also a pool and a graveyard at the back, because it's not a Goth home without a graveyard. It is also equipped with air-conditioning as well as ceiling fans to beat the heat.

It’s that time again - time to show off your awesome design skills! The celebration of the spring season around the globe is traditionally seen as a time of new beginnings. In that tradition, our attention will turn to the Goth’s home in Willow Creek, Ophelia Villa. Have you noticed it? Well, we sure have, and we’ve never seen a home in such a desperate need of a spring-time spruce up. Let’s release this grey eyesore from its current drab state and give it the new beginning it deserves!
As always, there are a few rules...
THE BRIEF:
You can change the window size, window type, and window placement as desired.
You can change the door size, door type, and door placement as desired.
You can change the color of any windows, doors or arches.
You can change the style, size, and location of any stairs.
You can delete any porches & railings and create new ones if you’d like.
You don’t need to keep any of the furnishings, landscaping, wallpaper, siding or flooring. It can all be changed/replaced.
The roofing can be replaced/modified as you wish.
You can save and place the home on any lot up to 40x40 in size in any world of your choice.
Interior walls can be deleted/re-arranged as you wish, and new walls can be added.
You cannot delete existing exterior walls, but you can add onto the build in any way you wish.
Current wall heights AND foundation heights must remain the same.
Equal attention in judging will be given to the new interior design, landscaping, and architectural design.
There’s no budget for this one - go crazy!

Make over the 3rd floor (uppermost) bedroom as a new bedroom space for either Alexander (Bookworm) or Cassandra (Gloomy, Creative, Muser). The current room footprint (6x6 with same stair placement) must remain the same as in the current build. Keep the traits of the sim you are designing for in mind.

ENTRY DETAILS: I love natural light and I feel with as pale as the Goths are, they could use a little more sun. So I made sure there were a ton of floor to ceiling windows for them to soak up that Vitamin D. I kept the layout mostly the same, but I moved Alexander's bedroom downstairs so that I could make a gorgeous greenhouse on the roof that opens up to a picnic spot for grilling, karaoke, painting, and catching yourself on fire... In the front I added some fountains and landscaped around the front, side, and back. The backyard leads to on open patio, next to which is a gorgeous pink garden! This pink was carried throughout the house decor along with a nice spring green and baby blue. The whole house is now bright and cheery and actually livable. It's especially inviting since I took that awful imposing fence away. The Goths might not want visitors but now they might not have a choice with how welcoming it looks!
I would also like to take a moment to comment on the bathrooms. The second floor bathroom in particular is an eyesore. The walls are tiled in what can only be described as Pepto Bismol Pink. It's so pink it makes you sick. Kinda like Pepto Bismol. If the walls don't make your sim sick, the talking toilet cracking jokes sure will.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Goths family wanted to move a little out of their comfortzone. They wanted to go a little away from the grey and black colour scheme and add a little bit of Spring to their closet. Bella Goth has always love red too, but she added a shorter dress in red and a bit of pink and purple, Mortimer added blue and even pink to his closet, Cassandra added more modern black and white, pink in different shades, Alexander added green, purple and a bit of red to his closet. All stayed true to themselves. still stylish, just more modern and spring fashion.

I wanted to keep the quirky within the family, and simply enhance their styles, while also making them more fresh and spring-ready. To me, spring is more about re-birthing and renewing than actual light colors and spring motifs. Goth is a classy and well respected family, and I wanted to showcase that in their styles. I also wanted to keep the Goths in their usual color scheme, with the darker tones, and Bella's iconic red dress was a huge inspiration for all of the styles.
Mortimer's got a whole new mustache and a new hair do, as well as some more modern clothes, while keeping his own aesthetic. Bella, the most modern of the family, has also gotten a new hairstyle, but not too far from what she's comfortable with. Her outfits are modern yet sultry and sophisticated, much like before, but better. Cassandra is a total nerd, and I love that about her. I gave her a shorter hair style and some cute round glasses to match, as well as I enhanced her preppy yet nerdy normal style with some fresher clothes. Alexander is a little cutie, and I wanted to dress him like I think his parents would want him to dress. He's gotten some very dapper clothes and some new glasses to match, as well as a cute pompadour hairstyle.

ENTRY DETAILS: I chose to move the house to a bigger lot where the family had a bigger yard to enjoy and a better view. I also added on to the building to be able to make larger, more spacious rooms and hallways. The house was gutted inside, redesigned, and added on to. The original house exterior walls remain, although some doorways go through those walls. I also changed the windows and doors to give the house a more pleasing look. It has the Celebrity Home, Convivial, and Gnomes traits.

Ophelia Villa is now a classy & lovely home with features to encourage creativity and socialization. Special features include a lovely gazebo for sunny luncheons; a formal living room, a formal dining room, & a formal music room; a cheerful and homey kitchen and cook’s 4-season greenhouse stocked with multi-veggie, multi-fruit and multi-herb plants that will allow Bella to cook many new gourmet dishes for her family and friends while enjoying tending the small garden; it is cat-ready so they can welcome a new fur-baby, & so much more! Renovations have been made throughout the entire home and grounds. It was also designed for a brand new town (Brindleton Bay) to be situated on a lovely seaside lot!
Oh, and to make sure they can afford their new digs & social standing comfortably, a money tree has been included on the roof patio area.

I added Two Atriums one on the first floor and one on the top floor also exspanded the wrap around deck owners can now walk from the front to the back via the deck and atrium on first floor and on second floor can enjoy the seating area to the front and able to walk to the back door second floor with out going inside. roof top is now a deck with an atrium attached to the top bedroom. Owners will have some of the prettiest veiws from this rooftop garden. Front entry was decked out in flowers with ivy cascading over the front of the building.

ENTRY DETAILS: This was a hard challenge. Deciding how to transform this home. As a goth myself i didn't want to lose the ''goth feel'' of the house to much. I saw the home as romantic and elegant but dark. So i wanted to try and make a romantic and elegant home, but bright. For this i used a lot of white marble, colors (gold,some pastels,some brighter) bridges and a gazebo. Of course as this was a Spring makeover i tried to keep in mind that spring means, warmer weather, means more time spend outside. So i moved the home to the biggest lot size that was allowed to expand the garden?. I also chose a spot that was somewhat secluded, spring means everyone will be spending more time outside, so the goths wisely moved away from all those spring-loving, happy neighbours brrrr... This spot is also perfectly surrounded by beautiful trees and it has a romantic oceanview.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Goth's home has got a much more modern look, giving it a new lease of life and much needed update from it's previous look. Keeping in line with the dark colours prefered by the family the house uses a black and white colour scheme, with accents of bright green for a touch of spring. Large windows give the home much more natural light and coupled with plenty of outdoor space give the family a chance to view the surroundings of their new Windenburg home.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Renovation of Ophelia Villa... Relocated to StrangerVille . Moved to the Shadey Acres Section of town..This beautiful 3 story Home now is set on the 40 x 30 lot of Plateau Place. "StrangerVille is known for its plateaus and unique rock formations. There is no better lot like Plateau Place to take all of that in. Providing the best views overlooking StrangerVille, this lot was the perfect place to renovate our dream home. Just ignore the strange lights coming from that crater." Knowing the History of the Goths and their Homes throughout the succession of games. I wanted to keep a bit of the Supernatural aura about them. Because the Goth family has featured in so many different games, there have been a variety of different homes for them. Every Goth home, besides the one in The Sims 4, contains its own graveyard. Each of the PC games, plus all the console editions, have shown ghosts haunting the mansions and scaring the inhabitants. Like the Goth's previous residences this home is haunted too.

ENTRY DETAILS: The Goths have relocated to Strangerville to a Renovated Ophelia Villa. Its brighter , and grander.. So Now we have given them a more Stylish make over fitting for their new beginning. ( for me the Goths have always been associated with the Supernatural. I did not want to stray far from their Game History. So in this Make over - I threw in some occult..) This was a Fun make over .There are some surprises for this family.. Mortimer's relationship with Caleb Vatore from Forgotten Hollow has become close. Caleb called him up one day to ask him a serious question..I will never tell if Mortimer took him up on his offer... All I know is Bella finds him more alluring these days..

ENTRY DETAILS: Casa ni Doña Ofeliana, or "Doña Ofeliana's House" is the Goth home Ophelia Villa remodeled into a mansion with features from Filipino Colonial architecture. It has what the previous Goth home had, but with a new library wing with a dance hall included. There's also a pool and a graveyard at the back, because it's not a Goth home without a graveyard. It is also equipped with air-conditioning as well as ceiling fans to beat the heat.
