Sims 4 Getaway -- Vacation EP

Just wanted to put this idea out there for an EP.

Sims 4 Getaway

3 unique destinations; destinations can be disabled or not installed (similar to Sims 2 where you didn't have to load all three vacation destinations or universities)

Includes Seasons

Destination 1: Mountain resort

Visitors can stay in cabins or for cheaper accommodations camp in tents (cabins only during winter); make own meals
Good weather activities include: bonfire singalongs and ghost stories, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire (with chances of either getting burned), hunting for unique plants and collectables to take home, additional fishing opportunities, log rolling, new games for family including hide and seek and tag
Snow activities include snowboarding, snowman building, snowball fights, ice skating, ice hockey practice(?)
Hot chocolate machine -- children able to drink hot chocolate if a Teen or up makes it

Destination 2: Beach resort

Visitors stay in hotels, eat at hotel restaurant
Activities include beach volleyball, relaxing on beach, surfing and snorkeling (if possible), searching for collectables like seashells, more fishing, pool activities like pool volleyball or basketball, Marco Polo, diving boards. No snow in beach resort but could get a lot of rain so indoor activities like watching movies, playing games (board game table), or just greater chance of Bored mood

Destination 3: Lost Wages

Vegas-style resort, with all the glitz and glamour that accompanies it. Would cost the most to visit. Sims stay in luxury hotels and eat in fancy restaurants. Gambling (either with robotic dealers like in Sims 3 or with NPC dealers) including poker, blackjack, slot machines. Lots of entertainment options; Sims in entertainment careers or with musical/comedy skill could earn lots of tip money there. Not much for kids or teens to do so they'd be more likely to be bored. No real fishing or outdoor activities; maybe some unique crystals or other collectables that could be sold for extra money.

Any thoughts?

  • we need a game pack with a new vacation destination period like before toddlers and seasons
i would love to have island life back! that was probably one of my all time favorites! some people cant afford a luxury Caribbean vacation but now you can experience one! they would sell so many this time of year! we can even open a spa with the spa game pack in the resort! :D :)
  • Hi The Sims team and the Simming community!

Okay everyone I think it is safe to say we need a new vacation spot, because my sim has to many vacation days and I can't tell you how tired I am of the camping game pack. I need a place to easily pay my 30000 dollar bills with my phone, not rough it out in bear poop and pray my kids don't go on a hike! the unparalleled anxiety of showering at the Hermits house because you don't have your own is not my idea of a vacation. What we need specifically is an island paradise resort type of vacation! this could have many of benefits especially around this time of year! don't have time to go on a tropical vacation? well with The Sims 4 you can experience one!

    some ideas that I have:
you can go to a resort or a "shack" if you will and you can tan,
swim in the pools or in lagoon with a waterfall,
    fish
    take island culture dancing lessons
    build sand castles
island bars and waiters who walk around with trays while you are relaxing on the sand on a chaise lounge chair
    night time shows
little shops that sell island wear, even mysterious objects that can be used at home as souvenirs
    bird watching and water sports
night time activities and games on the beach like volley ball too. and we already have a spa game pack an things like the bon fire! we can even have new food and drink recipes that you can learn and island life decorative objects! and island stories from the people who run the resorts
a bell hop can bring your bags and you can check in and out of your room, there's the staff that clean your room and check up on your needs and of coarse that would introduce a new lot type!
there can even be honeymoon packages!
new island clothes and nautical furniture!

all these things could be done in the boundaries of a game pack!

oh I was also thinking about incorporating a gossiping system into the game as an update! you can turn it on or off but you would get o know the town a little more and you're sims life would be more realistic. the player would feel as if you are more involved honestly, its like you're sims know the norm in you're town but you don't, like you fully don't know the culture you are creating for example?

what ideas do you guys have??
  • I liked World Adventures, I had lots of fun going through the ruins, but here a few suggestions: 1. I think there should be a task again for explorers, but you should also be able to just go on a normal family vacation. 2. Sims should be ageing during their vacation (If you are an explorer then it really sucks, if you don't age... 3. When you get married to a Sim from the vacation destination they should keep part of their culture (know the songs/skills and have family relations at the destination). 4. Please let the worlds be as nice as in Sims 3! I really liked that they were inspired by real life places and I thought it was cool that each place had different skills to learn (nectar making, karate etc.). Maybe add one fantasy world and two actual locations (you could have Atlantis)

Well, since I wrote this before Outdoor Retreat was released, we can eliminate that. B) I was thinking of a Sims 4 version of Sims 2 Bon Voyage which was one of my favorite packs for that game.

We don't have log rolling and snow though. I wouldn't see a problem with having 2 mountain vacation spots. Granite Falls is fine but it's nothing like Hidden Springs was.
  • Bring back sun tanning on island resorts like the Sims 2: Bon Voyage!
