Done.
No rewards have been used. No steel bladder or never tired etc..
As far as I'm concerned, those of you that used the rewards are nothing but cheaters! :pensive:
Seriously, I mean that. :disappointed:
You should be ashamed of yourselves. Challenge--NOT!
So, here's what I did with my gal. I started her off in an 8x8 home and kept it that way.
She never paid mind to her aspirations.
She starterd out with Mansion Baron and ended with Mansion Baron.
You bite! Seriously!
I'm probably one of the few who didn't use aspiration rewards (CHEATS!)
I started out with Mansion Baron and ended with it. I'm giving myself an extra 200 points for NOT BEING LAME!
*disclaimer: she is doing this in private so... BITE ME!*
Apparently I offend the sensibilities of better Simmers when I am honest about changing my aspiration and removing myself from the challenge and going it alone.
I wanted to see what I could have done had I left my Sims original aspiration the same as it was when I first created her, long before this challenge was even a thought. Rebecca was a teenager, freelance botanist, genius, and good. I changed her to young adult, mansion baron, (genius and good stayed the same) and gave her cheerful in CAS. I then put her in game to play with her for the first time ever, built her house, and started playing.
Gardening was the first and main thing I focused on so that her social would be easier to keep up once it was high enough. None of it counted towards an aspiration. I also mainly focused on keeping her needs met too, so she was easy to keep happy, plus she was cheerful and that helps. I came here and posted about her and how I wished I had kept her original aspiration and was told I could choose another, other than mansion baron, to start with. I don't believe they understood she was already in game. I did not change it at that time and continued to play just as she was.
Sim weeks into play, with little to no improvements done to her home or any great amount of income from skills gained through painting, writing, and gardening, I realized I could have gotten far more out of my play with her had I just left her with botanist then moved on to painter and later writer. I had gardening maxed and painting was getting pretty close. I decided I really did want to work on other aspirations, and since I was keeping her to continue playing once she completed the challenge, I went ahead and changed it back to freelance botanist. This was the one and only time I changed her aspiration without completing it to its fullest that it could be done, but it was enough to remove me from the challenge and I was okay with that. I even came here and stated as much. Perhaps for certain Simmers I should have been more clear?
I did not want to start my game over with her as I had already invested so much time into her and she was doing so well as far as her staying happy (cheerful trait helped), focused (genius trait would kick in), or confident (due to her skills with making good quality stuff) a good bit of the time. All of that was easy to do when focusing on and watching her needs (NOT CHEATING WITH POTIONS OR REWARDS to met them), and she was just darn fun to play.
I did buy her first reward sometime between week 5 and 6, it was creative visionary, she had already painted several masterpieces before having it, since I refuse to sell them and collect them instead, it hurt more than it helped in the long run. FYI, I had enough points for the reward, because I met a lot of her whims along the way. I did not even complete Botanist until week 8, because I did not want all the hard work she had done so far on her indoor garden to go to waste. I instead used some of her harvested items to plant in 3 other planters I bought until she had all 10 plantings logged, which was easy enough to do for tier one. I had to get rid of her armchair to make room and it got a bit cramped, but she managed. I kept the extra for quite a while, because a few of my plants had evolved to excellent already and did not count towards the aspiration, so I still needed the three new ones. Once I met that need the extra 3 pots and plants were sold off.
I did not start racking up really good aspiration points until well into my play, so being accused of cheating and being LAME really PLUMS me off! (yes I typed out plums).
As of editing this:
Rebecca is on week 12 and the day is Saturday.
She has managed to complete ALL aspirations that can be fully completed; which are, in order of completion; freelance botanist, best selling author, and painter extraordinaire (minus Manson Baron DUH). She also has done all the tiers that could be completed without having a job or leaving the room.
Body Builder - tier one complete, tier two 1/3
Musical Genius - tier one complete, tier two 1/3
Successful Lineage and Big happy Family - tier one complete of both
Master Chief - tier one complete, tier two 2/ 3
Master Mixologist - tier one complete, tier two 2/3
Fabulously Wealthy - tier one complete, tier two 2/3
Renaissance Sim - tier one, tier two 2/3
Nerd Brain - tier one complete, tier two 2/3
Skills mastered - gardening, painting, writing, cooking, handiness, and programming
Skills that have levels but not mastered - Video gaming, logic, and violin level 6,
Mixology level 5
gourmet cooking and fitness level 4
Now she is locked into Mansion Baron, sitting at a property value of 274,521, with 101,858 in funds.
None of the above means a darn thing as I have been out of the challenge, but it does drive home my point. I can do the challenge easily all over again and kick tail doing it and follow the rules.
The only rule I broke was rule 5, no other, and that was enough to take me out, again; I made that choice and will live with it, because I started with MANSION BARON and had not completed it (DUH) when I switched to Freelance Botanist. I had not even completed any of the tier one stuff in Mansion Baron, because I was more concerned with getting up skills and keeping her happy than building and adding art to her abode. Not even joking a little bit.
GAMEPLAY RULES
2. When gameplay begins your final goal is to complete the Mansion Baron aspiration.
3. 30 windows, 20 columns and $350,000 worth of stuff? Yes, you ARE allowed to build outside of your room.
4. You can build anything, anywhere, at any time, as long as your sim never leaves their 8 x 8 area.
5. You may NOT switch aspirations once one is selected, until it become impossible to complete, or is completed.
6. The exception to the above, is Mansion Baron. You can switch to it at any time to track your primary progress.
7. You may spend points on any rewards you wish, excluding the "Independent" reward, and "Moodlet Solver"
8. Your sim is not allowed to have a job, making money gains difficult.
9. You may turn aging on or off as desired.
After week 8 is when I started to buy more of the rewards. By this point I was already out of the challenge and was using what I had earned! YOU GET THAT! EARNED!!!! PLUM YOU! When I earn a reward I will darn well use it, have a problem with that and you can BITE YOURSELF! Clearly you are ignoring RULE 7 calling people cheaters.
Don’t worry your pretty little head @kremesch73 I won’t be bothering with you or this thread here after. Next time you want to attack someone have the guts to actually use their name so it is very clear who you want to attack just because it makes you feel so superior. Way to make someone feel welcome for admitting to the truth and withdrawing long before you acted like a PLUM. Just because I lurk far more than I will ever post, and prefer to play my game more than I post (even during a challenge), does not make me any less of a Simmer. To infer I am doing something privately and hidden is bull. I did not hide anything! I don’t need to post every 30 seconds to prove a darn thing to anyone when I can easily do so once I am done.
Yes I deleted my prior posts, because everything I have to say is right here in this one! Don’t like it? BITE YOURSELF!!!
