Sims 4 Room Challenge

I started the Room Challenge but must now include myself in the group who are stalled out thanks to the Writer's Block task. My sim is a level 6 writer now, all work except the first two children's books has been with the 'Practice Writing' option. The latest four-hour session has included a pile of garbage on the floor nearby that is sending waves of green stink into the air. I thought leaving it there, along with the puddle of water from a shower repair, would bring on sufficient discomfort and distraction to create writer's block. My sim is very annoyed but dedicated to her writing. =\ It's now time to tend to her tanked needs and I'm getting very frustrated with this aspiration. I might not have the patience for this challenge.

I see more frequent thought bubbles that look like Pepto Bismol. Maybe she's about to get sick to her stomach from the stench. Will that be sufficient to cause writer's block?
