Small improvement idea for Foodie and Cooking

So, as I sat there turning the leftover Taco Meat into a Taco Salad tonight for dinner, I thought about how I have a lot of foodie friends who don't like leftovers. Like, at all. They very rarely make dishes that don't have pre-planned servings, etc.

It got me thinking that it might be interesting to give foodies more reactions than just "was it excellent" Maybe foodies get bored or tense if they have to eat leftovers for more than one meal in a row.

And then I thought, to work around that, there could be a "Repurpose Leftovers" interaction that unlocked once your sim got to a certain level in cooking - maybe level 5, like the gourmet cooking. It would only make a single meal, and your sim would still take a little bit of time at the counter "dressing up" the leftovers (maybe use the cutting board animation) but not as long as cooking a full meal, and it could be done without a stove. And Foodies would use that autonomously when they went for leftovers, maybe.

I don't know, it's an idea.
  • I suppose they could repurpose food and maybe unlock new recipes, like turkey sandwiches out of leftover turkey grand meal. But not many dishes can successfully be repurposed. Maybe we could pick meat from leftover food and feed to pets?

I mean, almost anything can be made into a stir fry or a curry if you're willing to go fusion.

But yes, turning it into pet food would be acceptable too (as long as the original recipe doesn't call for garlic or onion... or chocolate)

Pet food would be good if the issue is too much leftover food. I don't really mind if my sims eat leftover food, because they don't need to cook as often. But repurposing the food as another dish, might just create another dish that is too large to eat. The best solution is to just cook small portions, either single or family size.
  • It sound troublesome. We already have hard time to make sims pick up leftover instead cook new one and let one in fridge go spoiled. Repurpose leftovers mean turn one meal into another meal, right? Maybe new dish gonna code to appear random for sake of easy bc there is so many recipe in sims now or just waste time animation. Reason there is leftover bc sims make big serve for a lot people or just "save time". I want them to fix foodie sims auto got tap water and got bad moodlet more
  • I love the idea! Especially love that foodies would do something different than others.
