Regarding romance, I found the same in my nearly full-autonomy game (which is the Hippies game) --and that is, autonomously, my Sims just didn't flirt or engage in romantic behavior--or even roll whims for that! Perhaps the latest patch has changed that; I haven't played the household much since the patch came out. My autonomous Sims are pretty good at keeping the house clean. Your photos of the kitchen made me laugh!
The most amazing autonomous Sim I've had in a game has been @Megg87 's Aya Ikeda. She works out, programs, gets penpals, and moves up in her aspiration (body-builder) autonomously. She's always doing something productive!
