I wanted to attempt to complete one challenge each month this year. We'll see how that goes. I missed January and got sick during Valentine's week which is when I wanted to start this challenge. ...
The rules state “Pick one girl to spend the day with!”
Since she didn’t get to have a date the other day, I’ve decided to give Jasmine today’s Solo Date. She also has consistently been on the low end of relationship status with Eric. They rarely spend any time together at the mansion so this will give them time to strengthen whatever’s between them.
They head to Copperdale’s Womp Womp Amusement Park for some good ole fashion fun. Neither Sim ate before coming. First things first: hit up the food stands. Jasmine munches on veggie sliders, fries, and a fruit slush. Eric downs a corndog, fried chicken sliders, and four ice cream cones (chocolate and cookie dough)!
Now that their bellies are stuffed, it’s time for rides! They go on the ferris wheel first which is a good idea considering anything faster than a turtle could lead to disastrous stomach content spewing results.
They’re feeling mighty flirty after taking a few slow turns on the wheel. I don’t know where they’re pulling that mistletoe out of… but kissy, kissy
Next up is the haunted house. Jasmine isn’t sure about this one. She tries to convince Eric to go on it alone, but he swears to protect her.
Eric: You’re not afraid of the dark, are you?
Jasmine: N-no. I’m not a child.
Jasmine shines the flashlight on her phone like a headlight during most of the ride. She drops it in the carriage when bats screech and fly around their heads.
Jasmine: Vampires!!
Eric: Those aren’t real bats… or vampires.
Then a life-size animatronic Vladislaus jumps out and hisses at them.
Jasmine: MY RECURRING NIGHTMARE!!!!
(Jasmine wakes up in a cold-sweat every night after having a nightmare about Vlad. I wish I had remembered that during last time's Party Day at the club. How would Jasmine have reacted to seeing Vlad face-to-face while he tended the bar? She was down on the dance floor at the time. Argh! Missed opportunity for hijinks.)
When the ride ends, Jasmine rushes out of the building and proceeds to act like nothing happened. Eric doesn’t question her hoping she’ll talk to him when she’s ready.
The final ride is the Tunnel of Love.
Jasmine is apprehensive of this ride, too. It’s also dark. Eric is beginning to think she’s actually afraid of the dark. But the romantic atmosphere lulls Jasmine into a less nervous state. Eventually, she relaxes enough to have a make out session with Eric.
As their time at the amusement park comes to an end, Eric watches as Jasmine walks onto the well-lit stage and plays the guitar. It’s a love song she dedicates to Eric. She plucks and strums the strings to the best of her ability (which is none). Her voice is as melodic as a screeching llama.
Eric is moved by her sweet gesture. No one’s ever written a song just for him.
For dinner, the couple heads to a romantic restaurant in Newcrest.
Everything was all fine and dandy during the day, but as the sun sinks below the horizon, Jasmine becomes increasingly anxious. She is afraid of vampires, the dark, and burglars; and she is currently terrified about all three at the same time. *sigh*
Eric tries to assuage her fears by looking up statistics on the likelihood of a vampire attack, or an eldritch horror rising out of the dark street, but to no avail.
Eric: And a burglar isn’t going to sneak into the restaurant. That would be a robber.
Jasmine: *gasp* I have to look out for robbers, too?!
She is so scared, she doesn’t want to go to the bathroom by herself. She waits until she can’t take it anymore to get up from the table. But once she’s at the stalls, she stands in the doorway, shaking, staring into the darkness. What if there’s a vampire? Or a robber? Or worse, what if she’s sucked into the black abyss?
Girl, just flip the light switch!
Instead of using common sense, Jasmine lets her fears get the better of her. She stands frozen in terror so long that she pees herself.
Now that Jasmine is soaked in pee and stinks, the date comes to a humiliating end.
Well, this first real Solo Date was a wild “ride”. There’s a Rose Ceremony next time. Dun dun! See you there!
Thanks to DovahkiinaThay for the Romantic Restaurant used in this episode!
