It's in segments. We fill up the lots as we go....each house will come w/a whole new set of challenges 2 complete before moving on 2 the next house challenge.
If you rather enjoy 1 specific house challenge..it works as a stand alone challenge as well....so if the WHOLE challenge is 2 much or u just prefer smaller/quicker challenges...then by all means...just use the mini-house challenge(s) 2 enhance your own game play =)
