TROPICAL STORM RILEY
Things with Eridan were going perfectly. Although he can be a tad bit excitable at times. For example, he seemed really shocked yesterday when the new toilet and shower were delivered. I don’t know what the big deal was. He was all freaked out about not being able to afford such “luxuries”. I finally got him calmed down long enough to explain they were free. He didn’t believe me until I told him the whole story.
It went like this. After I left Eridan at the park, I took a stroll through town. I ended up in this alley behind some swanky restaurant. I couldn’t help but hear some chef yelling, with a realllly bad, fake, French accent, about some ugly green toilet. It didn’t take me too long to realize he found the color offensive, because it wasn’t “good enough” for his customers. So I told him to stop being such a silly goose and that there was nothing wrong with it. He said if I liked it so much, then I should just keep it. I said ok, but ONLY if you throw in a shower as well. He just stood there and looked at me. Well, my Daddy taught me how to negotiate. He said the trick is to not say anything after giving your terms, just wait out the other guy, and eventually he’ll fold. Once again Daddy was right.
When I finished explaining it all to Eridan, he just stared at me for a bit, shook his head very slowly, and walked away muttering, “I just don’t get it. How does she do it?” Poor Eridan, he gets confused so easily.

So anyway, once my new bathroom pieces were ummm, well placed on the lawn, I figured now was as good a time as any to meet some of my soon-to-be new family members. I invited his sister over, but asked her to wait a couple of hours, because Eridan had a project to complete first.

It took a little persuading, but eventually Eridan saw the wisdom of my ways and agreed to do this one tiny little thing for me. After all, we can’t have his sister staring at our new green toilet during her visit! What kind of impression would that make?!?

I timed it perfectly, because moments after he finished, his little sister Endeavoura was knocking on our door. hehe Our door ! I just love the sound of that. OUR door. *sigh* It was just as beautiful as I pictured on that first night when I found this land.

Anyway, after the introductions were made, I saw no reason to waste any time and explained to Endeavoura that I’d soon be part of her family. I heard Eridan begin to choke. Bless his heart, he’s was so overwhelmed at the thought of us being “official” that he couldn’t form a full sentence. He just kinda stood there gasping for air. His sister seemed just as excited, based on how big her eyes got when I told her. By the time Eridan did start talking, I was lost in my own thoughts – planning our wedding. So unfortunately I missed most of the conversation.
Oh yeah! I almost forgot to mention, while Eridan was building our bathroom, I found some appliances in a trade catalog. After a little bit of haggling, I got this guy to agree to trade a stove, fridge and a kitchen counter for a frog (named Bob), a fishing lure, and an apple. Now that all of the basic necessities had been taken care of, I knew it was time to start getting serious about our future. Eridan, being a little slow to pick up on things, just needed a couple more gentle nudges in the right direction, then I just know that he’ll drop to one knee and pop the big question.

So I dropped a rose in front of him. And guess what he did! He picked it up and gave it to me! Ok, so maybe it wasn’t necessarily his IDEA to give me a rose. But that doesn’t really matter, does it? What counts is that he gave me a rose! Who cares why he did it, as long as he did it! Besides sometimes a girl has to take matters into her own hands, if she wants a little romance in her life.
Shouldn’t be too much longer now. I wonder if I should wear my hair up or down for our big day. Hmmm…..
