The Lone Rancher Challenge
I came up with this challenge while just enjoying a ranch-themed playthrough. Cottage Living and Horse Ranch are a must for this challenge, any questions can be asked below and I will answer them ;)
Basic Backstory
After many years working in the business world, something just snapped. You couldn't stand your coworkers anymore. The sounds of the city made your head want to split open, and one day you decided enough is enough. With your small troop of animals you decided to move out of the city, ready to start your own quiet life. There's not a lot of people around - it's just you, the open wildness and your creatures.
Be as creative as you want with your backstory, and leave some clues about your backstory over your lot.
Rules
- Start in either winter or fall
- You must have one sim and six animals in your starting household. The animals must include atleast two horses.
- Your sim must have the Loner trait, and atleast one animal-based trait (Rancher, Animal Enthusiast, Dog Lover, Cat Lover, Horse Lover)
- Only two animals are allowed to have fully "good" traits, the rest must have 1-3 "bad" traits
- You can choose any lot which is not in the city to start on, but make sure it's spacious! Your horses must be in a pen, and you must have space to grow produce - and space for your house, of course. You may not have any training equipment for the horses on your starting lot, but once you have over $100000 you may buy some.
- On the topic of the lot, your lot must have Simple Living, Living Off The Grid and Private Dwelling
- Your sim may not have a job, they are only allowed to make money by gardening, ranching, fishing, and community jobs.
- You are only allowed to buy groceries at the start of the game (flour and sugar are the exception), your must provide all the food for yourself
- You are only allowed to travel to a different lot on a Sunday
- You may not invite other sims to your lot except on a Sunday, and your may not have a ranch hand, a butler, a maid or a gardener; if you do find a partner for your sim/if your sim does have children they are allowed to help out
- If you do have a partner/children, you must spend atleast two nights a week away from home (you may travel to any rural lot for this)
- You must have atleast 3 chickens, 2 mini-goats/sheep, or one cow. You may have more
So what's the real challenge?
- You have to reach full relationship with all of your animals - chickens, mini creatures and cows involved - and you have to reach full friendship with atleast 2 sims, but no more than 4.
- If any of your animals get taken away, you fail
- Your sim must master the animal training, gardening and riding skills
- At all times you have to have a rescue horse, which you are training in order to sell. Once your rescue horse is sold, you have to buy another one. If you choose to keep your rescued horse, you have to buy another one to train and sell/keep.
- If an animal dies, you have to replace them; there must be 5 or more pets in your household at all times, and your have to have a minimum of 2-3 other animals.
- If you can't reach the goal with your first sim, their children are allowed to continue to try to reach the goal. The children must also be loners and have atleast one other trait that will make gaining friendship with other sims more difficult. And if the child fails? Same thing, but if you reach gen 3 you fail. The second gen sim is allowed to have children but the children may not continue the challenge.
Those are the basics of the challenge for now, I hope you guys enjoy it! If you have any questions or suggestions please leave them below
