The Merfolk of the Sulani Seas Legacy ChallengeThis is a legacy challenge I created and tested on the console. It's also something I want to use to focus my own story. My story well be subjected to the rules my merfolk live by so this challenge won't be followed exactly in my own story. I wanted to share it because it's definitely worth giving a try. Should be noted that mods are not required for this challenge.The spirit of this challenge is to try different packs that compliment merfolk gameplay. You can play the entire challenge with your founder, building off of the progress you've made, or rotate between different households. It's possible to even progress through this challenge like a normal legacy. This challenge was designed to be challenging but flexible with different playstyles. Merfolk are at the heart of the challenge though.Spoiler (Highlight to read)General Rules Spoiler (Highlight to read)Each Generation of the Legacy will be its own rotation. Auto-Aging must be turned off.The Heirs and Founders will not die from Old Age, but Death will not be turned offThe Founder and 7 Heirs will need to be created from the startEach Founder and Heir will be a Mermaid or Merman with a specific Tail Color. There should be a total of 8 Merfolk for the challenge with the founder and blue tail having two parts. There should be Two Blue Tail Heirs. The number of merfolk is important because the Founder will be creating a Club to recruit the other 7 Heirs.The tails colors and the tail colors that have 2 rotations can be any color, but keep in @DaniRose2143 Alex is now his own character. His name will be Alex Zalrian, and instead of Alexander Goth being reborn as a merman and adopted by the Zalrian Pod, he’s actually Calum and Arihi’s Eldest Son born under the sea.There will be many similarities to the old story, but Alex is a new character. I also have a different plot in mind for the first arc of the story.I’ve been meaning to ask @Ellupelluellu some things about their Cassandra Goth and Bella Goth because they had a post involving them that hinted back to my original story’s beginning.However, I do plan on having Alexander Goth and Mortimer Goth appear in my story.Damion might also be a little different because of Camilo’s presence in the story.As for what @Ellupelluellu teased was the sudden disappearance of both Alexander and Mortimer during their trip to Sulani. Most who go to him know that he never undoes his magic once a spell has been cast. He’s possessive by nature and the Voice of a Merman or Mermaid is no exception. A deal with him carries the weight of permanence. Most go to him expecting to not get back what they lose.Camilo is known among humans as a terror from the deep that preys on human greed and desire. Humans deal with Camilo because he did what Damion would never do. Camilo sacrificed his ability to love so that he could take human form and grew much colder than Damion ever will be because of this. Like Damion, Camilo is a Natural-Born Merman that must sacrifice either his voice, love, or youth to walk among humans. He chose to give up his ability to love to go on land.Because Damion still has his youth, voice, and ability to love, he is a sea witch that can only traverse the sea or underwater. Damion will never appear on land in a human form. And he’s fine with that, he fell in love with Caleb close to the ocean shore, but he never did anything that would allow him to go on land. Damion is also the one that made Caleb a Reborn Merman after an accident with sunlight. Maybe a bad beach day or something. Regardless, Damion is not a fan of humans and isn’t interested in dealing with them. Regardless, Damion is not a fan of humans and isn’t interested in dealing with them. After creating the 7 Mermen that will maintain the peace in the sea, I think I made my decision for the future of the story.Each one of these mermen will have a special spot in the story. @Metior_Ice I love catching up with Alex and Ember again. It feels different or maybe it's my faulty memory. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.😃

@DaniRose2143 Alex is now his own character. His name will be Alex Zalrian, and instead of Alexander Goth being reborn as a merman and adopted by the Zalrian Pod, he’s actually Calum and Arihi’s Eldest Son born under the sea.
There will be many similarities to the old story, but Alex is a new character. I also have a different plot in mind for the first arc of the story.
I’ve been meaning to ask @Ellupelluellu some things about their Cassandra Goth and Bella Goth because they had a post involving them that hinted back to my original story’s beginning.
However, I do plan on having Alexander Goth and Mortimer Goth appear in my story.
Damion might also be a little different because of Camilo’s presence in the story.
As for what @Ellupelluellu teased was the sudden disappearance of both Alexander and Mortimer during their trip to Sulani. Something involving a sea witch, but no one knows.

Damion is known among merfolk for not going back on his deals. Most who go to him know that he never undoes his magic once a spell has been cast. He’s possessive by nature and the Voice of a Merman or Mermaid is no exception. A deal with him carries the weight of permanence. Most go to him expecting to not get back what they lose.

Camilo is known among humans as a terror from the deep that preys on human greed and desire. Humans deal with Camilo because he did what Damion would never do. Camilo sacrificed his ability to love so that he could take human form and grew much colder than Damion ever will be because of this. Like Damion, Camilo is a Natural-Born Merman that must sacrifice either his voice, love, or youth to walk among humans. He chose to give up his ability to love to go on land.

Because Damion still has his youth, voice, and ability to love, he is a sea witch that can only traverse the sea or underwater. Damion will never appear on land in a human form. @Metior_IceYes that was a backstory I came up with about why Bella and Cassandra were alone in Del Sol Valley 🙂
I hinted to your story there, only mentioning they never returned from their trip and nobody knows sure, but rumors were about a sea witch 🙂
Bella and Cassandra made their new life among stars, and Morty or Alex were never seen again, at least not in Willow Creek or Del Sol Valley 🙂

Going to be getting the next 2 chapters out next week if I can. I recently came down with a seasonal cold and recovering was a priority.

But, I’m getting some experience with what it feels like to be losing your voice. lol. I do not Envy Alex, but I definitely have a better understanding of what it feels like to not have a voice now.

Anyways, there definitely have been a few delays.

So, I ended up getting sick and that delayed things, and now, Spinning Plumbob just released a CC tail that looks amazing! I’m actually considering another story reboot so my characters can use that tail.

The temptation is real!

I have Alex Modeling the two different tails here. I seriously feel like the neverland tail that just got released looks so much better. Just need to wait for the child conversion before replaying the beginning of the story. I might even try something new for the story while I'm at it. Idk.
It's possible that I'll just need to replay the scenes to get new screenshots for the first chapter. I have a few different decisions to make.
As an added bonus, I had Kemps model some poses to get a different look at the tail. Redoing the screenshots is not impossible considering how early into the story things are.

Before I update with the new chapters, I’m going to redo the screenshots for Chapter 1. I think I like the Neverland Tail CC more than the Atlantica Tail. Updates should come after Spinning Plumbob makes the Conversions for the Child Merfolk Available.

I recently uploaded a modded and unmodded version of my Seven Mermen that will have a significant role in my story. The modded version will be the most developed household.
Anyways, my Seven Mermen Household is titled The Guardians of the Sea. These mermen are not how they will exactly be in the story, but if you are looking for a diverse group of mermen represent different social groups, this might be a good household to add to your game. My hope is that they add diversity to a game, and I fully expect them to get updated to a player’s preference. This household is a fairly generic version of the mermen that will have significant roles in my story.
For the unmodded version, you just need the packs.
For the Modded Version, you shouldn’t need too many mods. The CC and mods from Spinning Plumbob, specifically the Neverland Tail, Expanded Mermaid Mod, and Occult Preferences is all you should actually need.
Their Skirts are CC from SimmieV, but I left their human forms underdeveloped so they can be customized. In my own saves, almost all of these specific mermen won’t even be using a human form. Only Alex will actually have a human form that gets developed over time because he’s the only one out of the seven that will make it possible to use a human form later.

Now that the child conversions have been released for the Neverland Tail, I’m going to start updating things in this thread.

I plan on sharing the prologue before the end of April.

As for the chapter 1 in this thread, I will probably see what I can do to delete it or at least do something to help minimize confusion. The story will be starting with the prologue.
Since the Month of May is referred to as MerMay and artists challenge themselves to create merfolk content during this month, my plan is to release the entire Little Merman Story Arc for my SimLit that month.

I’m separating my story arcs based on seasons, and my first story arc is taking place in spring. Ideally, this should also put me in a good spot to start the next story arc during June, the first month of summer.
Hopefully, I can continue to align my story arcs with the same season in real life.
