As with my other stories/threads, there is no legacy or challenge in this story. There's more of a 'plot' to this one than my other ones. Joshua Parker had... rather an odd childhood, he'd say. No...
Not long after the session, Joshua decided to visit the graveyard and pay respect to his father's grave, as well as that of his nanny Jessica's. He wasn't sure if he was ready to come face-to-face with his mother's resting and the subsequent feelings yet. He then happened to spot an unusual-looking gravestone nearby, and went to investigate. Rest In Peace Alan Gardner, a much-loved husband. There was a glowing blue stone at the top of the slab, which was intriguing. He'd never seen a stone like it before.

A couple of days later was Spooky Day, as well as Hazel and Lydia's birthday. Emily baked them an appropriately-themed zombie cake, and the family gathered round to celebrate.
Will came over for a visit, and he and Hazel sat on her bed for a chat. In a moment of silence, Hazel admired her boyfriend, although she also noticed that he seemed rather pensive. She hoped he was OK.
A few days later, he came over again. "Are you OK, Will?" she asked. "You seem kind of quiet. I-if you don't wanna say anything, though, you don't have to." "No, I should be honest," he sighed. "You may have noticed my dad has never been around when you came to visit." "No," Hazel agreed. "I just thought he was at work." "He wasn't," Will said. "My father died before I was born." "Oh my gosh!" Hazel replied. "How awful!" "Yeah, it was pretty bad. My mum knows more of the story than I do." "That must've been really hard to tell me," Hazel said. "Thank you." "I figured I had to be honest at some point," Will sighed. "I couldn't keep it secret for the rest of my life. I just never knew how to tell you."

Yet more days later, Hazel went over to Will's house, and sat with his mum Debbie at the table. "Will told me about what happened to your husband," Hazel said. "I am so sorry." "Yes, it was pretty awful," Debbie replied. "We originally lived in a small house in Willow Creek. We bought a Murphy bed, thinking it would be a good way to save space. Well, something went badly wrong one day and Alan ended up crushed to death."
"I then moved to an apartment in Evergreen Harbour, where I gave birth to Will, before realising that it was too small and then we moved to Henford-on-Bagley."
"So... I'm assuming Hattie is adopted?" "Yes. I never had the time to meet another man. And I know it might sound strange, but I've always enjoyed a challenge, and having to both maintain a job and raise two children was a real challenge. Of course I'd love to have Alan back, but I've become somewhat used to being on my own. It's helped shaped me, Will and Hattie into who we are now."
