I've come to realize I must've had a glitch or something in my Retail save game. After reading @SoulGal7's last chapter which included an image of a financial report, I don't think the game ever took any restocking fees out of Grant's profits. I never saw a report that showed the fees taken, it only ever showed the profits. No wonder he made so much money so fast and it all seemed too easy. o.O
I think I might have to try this challenge again just to satisfy my curiousity, to see if my suspicions are true.
Thanks @Corwim for your comments on my store and Grant, glad you liked it and him! :) I don't think (if my suspicions pan out) Grant can claim that title though, but it was sweet of you to say!
Everybody has made some great suggestions on how to make more money. Sometimes it's the little 'extras' in a business that make the most money. When my Son worked for a popular hunting/outdoors store, he said what made the most money was the clothing, not the other big ticket items like you would expect.
Another suggestion I would make is to perhaps sell easels, the blank cavasses, rack of painted canvasses, the little paint supply table or the still life on a chair with light objects. They're all actually career rewards though, with the exception of the cheapest easel, so I'm not sure if those are allowed to be sold?
Sounds like you're all having fun and I'm enjoying reading all about what happens in your challenges, can't wait to read/see more! :)
