The return of the Sims store?

Just here to say I would support a store. ?Though I don't think they would do it. 6 years in and they already have their format set up.

I would rather they just went back to the Sims 2 model of delivering new content. We got a new pack every six months or so if I remember right and those packs would always be packed with quality content. I never liked the Sims 3 store and I wouldn't want want it to return.

It's funny, to me this is precisely what Game Packs and Stuff Packs do but are better value then the Store.
I personally wouldn't want The Store back, not for anything. I never felt that the Store content was ever worth the money - one or two (three if you're lucky) 'premium' items and the rest was just different styles of the same stuff we already had. I feel the Sims 4 Stuff Packs do the same job but do it better than the Store content ever did. Just my opinion of course.

Overall, I do like having Stuff Packs, Game Packs and Expansion Packs and for me, the difference between them are very clear:

Stuff Packs contain a couple of objects with new gameplay, whilst providing items for a theme. Kids Room, Romantic Garden and Backyard are good examples of this.
Game Packs expand a theme and provide gameplay around that theme only. I particularly feel that the occults benefit more from having their own Game Packs. Overall, they stick to a particular theme; Jungle Adventure, Parenthood and Dine Out are excellent examples of this.
Expansion Packs take on a broader theme (as opposed to Game Packs which are very specific) and generally provide gameplay that, personally, I find can be used for general every-day activities or broaden the scope of the gameplay in less obvious ways and encompasses a larger world. Discover University, Eco Lifestyle and Get Together are good examples of this. Plus you have expansions like Seasons which, while didn't bring a new world, do bring forth features that are used all the time (Eco Lifestyle falls under this heading, too.)

Anyway, that was a longer ramble than I intended. :D To conclude, I personally wouldn't want the Store back - I feel the three categories of packs currently serve my interests in the game far better <3

I personally liked the store. I liked the ability to look at individual items and just purchase what I wanted. Sometimes the sets would only have a few items I was interested in but I could purchase just those items if I filtered the items and not have to buy an entire pack of things I knew I'd never use.

I might sound delusional for saying this, but i feel like they are more reasonable this time around. I formed this feeling way back by looking at ts4 stuff packs, they have more items than the previous games and they cost less. I am not a fan of sps in general baceuse i dont care for bb and cas, but at least they arent expensive like they used to be which is why i think if they do a store this time around it might actually have better prices, but if it wont then they can just keep it to themselves.

I think what i would want the store to offer is some of the items that come with packs, so some people wont feel the need to buy a whole pack just because they liked a handful of its items, this seems convenient to me but probably wont happen because it is better for them if you bought the whole thing.

I say no way to a store, but I've considered it if it offered a way to separate the build/buy and CAS from existing packs. Then, for example, people who hate Vampires could have just purchased the CAS and build/buy, and the break-in feedings would never have needed to be nerfed. And someone who just wants the build/buy from the Star Wars pack could just get that segment without having the extra Star Wars content.

But I also forsee that this kind of content offer would have potential to turn into a fiasco for the players. It would probably lead to segmenting everything, even gameplay, and the deconstruction of packs altogether so that, in the long run, players end up spending way more to put those pieces back together to create a whole, while the company claims "more customizability for your game".

I really hated the Sims 3 store. I actually really love Game Packs, they've become my favorite pack model. So I'd say, in the long run, they should stay on the current path with the GPs and SPs. But I do think that EPs need more. My solution to this is to bump them up by $5 to be $45 so they can increase the budget and get more gameplay in there. They've been the same cost since Sims 1 so... no wonder they're starting to feel skimpy. Costs go up and the money needs to come from somewhere.

The store was expensive and they still bundled some much needed gameplay items with other things I didn't want. It was impossible to buy every item individually.

The store still works. At some point they added the ability to earn stuff by watching ads and I ended up with a lot of store content. Since the game ended, I've gotten three pages of purchases, all for bargains.

Well, it might be a cool thing. Or it might not work. Some are bound to start complaining about the prizing for sure. Others will happily throw their money after extra content.

One thing I would find useful about a store is if players could buy additional worlds. Not necessarily empty ones like Newcrest, but fillable worlds nonetheless.

I avoided the Sims 3 store because I was broke. However, I think it was a good idea. I had a friend who was not broke, and she could pick through and get the things she wanted. Sometimes she'd get something so great I'd add it to my wishlist. I liked the concept, as far as "If you've got all the packs and want more, here are some random extras in collections too small for a whole pack."

I don't think it would work with Sims 4's system, though. One of the complaints about Sims 4's packs is that they feel incomplete. A store at this point would be less "grab something interesting that isn't in a pack" and more "ask more money to complete a set I already bought."

TL;DR: A store where you get new styles that won't be in a pack: good. A store the way Sims 4 seems to do things: I'll pass, thank you.
