Backstory: Joseph Kahn is at a crossroads in his life: after trying and failing to win a part in the latest Myshuno musical, MacBella, he finds himself without purpose. Ever since he was a child, he has pored over novels and epics, soaking in the dramatic and tragic story lines as if they were the key to life. His one dream, to star in a famous, heart-rending musical, had been smashed by the ruthless casting director who deemed him "too melancholy and subdued" for the role (oh the irony!). Confused and depressed, Joseph soon hears of another opportunity: the chance to win the heart of a beautiful princess. How poetic and moving! Though he is not a hopeless romantic, Joseph still longs for the one woman whom he could woo with his loyal heart and share his love of stories with. Now if only this princess could see past his tendency to sit in a corner and brood over the latest depressing novel...

(Joseph seems like a dramatic emo but he's actually very quiet and thoughtful; he hides every intense emotion inside himself, but sometimes succumbs to his gloomy nature)
