- I agree. I was VERY disappointed that we don't have the TS2 style shopping for clothes. There could have always been an 'unlock all clothing' cheat for those who wanted it.

sorry but i have to disagree with you i like how it is in the sims 4 and why would you went the sims 4 to be like plain boaring outdated sims2 because sims2 is a boaring game compared to the sims4 "friendlysimmers;14580218" wrote:

Because I liked having my sims earn new outfits. I liked how I could select the initial outfits for my sims, and when they had enough money I could take them out to buy a new outfit. It felt nice to know they'd earned the treat and I took a lot of care to chose the right outfit that suited their personality. It felt more life-like and gave the game more purpose in my opinion. What is the point of having clothing stores and shopping if every outfit is available in their dressers at home?
I also liked how 'unlocking' clothes in TS2 allowed you to create a custom wardrobe for your sims. When you clicked on the dresser, all the outfits you'd bought for your sim were shown there. You could choose between outfits you'd specifically chosen for your sim, rather than trawling through the whole catalogue.
I would be happy if they added a similar personalised wardrobe option to The Sims 4. For example, they could add collection folders back to CAS, so you could choose styles that suit a particular type of sim (preppy, boho, sporty, etc) or even create a collection for a specific individual. Perhaps then there could be an option on the dresser to 'Choose Outfit from Collection'.
I'm happy that you like it the way it is. I'm aware some people prefer to have everything available in this way. I just meant that having the TS2 style with an 'unlock all clothing' cheat would have suited both sides (you could enter the cheat and have it the way it is in TS4 now), rather than the current way that suits just one.
edit: I should add... That there are mods in development that allow for the Sims 2 style grocery shopping. Plasticbox has a mod that makes you have to buy ingredients before you can cook. Graycurse is developing a 'shop from fridge' mod. And George from SMag is developing a grocery store mod. So, thank goodness for mods that allow us all to play in the way we want to! :)- I personally disagree. I hated having to buy outfits/ clothes in the Sims 2 and groceries in the Sims 3. I found it very tedious and I didn't see much point.
- I can honestly say I hate the magical refrigerator. I would actually like to go out and buy, Milk, eggs and flour and make my cake.
like how am I making Apple Pie, when I don't have any apples?
I wish there would be a pop up: "You can't make this go buy missing ingredients" or something. - Chocoeq7New SpectatorAny mod to date that allows us this?

You can create your own stores with the GTW EP.
But what's the point of creating those stores? The fridge has a endless supply of food groceries are never needed to be purchased, the same can be said for clothing everything is unlocked even the poorest of the Sims own everything. I say where's the challenge and game play experience that was offered in Sims 2. - Hey there, since this thread had been inactive since 2016, this is considered necroposting. So, I'm closing this thread.
