Thoughts and Questions about the Decades Challenge (Emotions, Ethics and Historical Perspective)
I've been thinking a lot about the Decades Challenge recently and I have an interesting setting in mind that I'd like to play one day (not anytime soon though... I would have to read a bunch of books ...
Even as German it's hard to find a free version of old law textbooks. It took me many hours to find the Preussische Gesindeordnung, this civil law was different between the german states and were valid before we got the modern civil law. What I have found were written in Sütterlin letters, which is hard to read. It was an old dictionary who has taught me these letters during my childhood, my parents found this knowledge unnecessary, but they didn't stopped me. However this knowledge is helpful in my job.
I use a mod from mod the sims, where only teenagers use the mobile phone, but I don't know the name anymore.
Regarding the many boys, yeah I doubt too, that they will all send to the same place. However I think not all will send to war right away, maybe some of them will study mathematics or physics, so they are more valuable at the home front than in field. Don't forget the computer ladies who did the calculations.There were also prison camps for us-american citizens run by military, there were also people who were pacifists and denied to join or they didn't pass the health check because of the hunger years. They all may have face different consequences. However my knowledge of the pacific war is very prone, afaik the pacific war was more brutal and deadlier than the European war for the USA. A war isn't just black and white, it has many shades of gray and outcome. One point of the occupation of germany was that black soldiers, who were stationed just for humiliation of the rascist germans, started to question themselves why they were threaten more respectful in Germany than in their own country, Mr. T told a very interesting story why he has chosen his artist name.
