@Daravi
It's definitely very impressing that you've come so far with your challenge that you're now in the future even :)
Hmm, ok, I can understand your husband. I guess as Sims players we're a little more used to weird deaths...
That's cool that you were able to meet people in Gdansk! I think communication and new friendships are the best way to avoid prejudices and deal with the past.
My grandfather was from Pomerania. When it was possible to go there again in the 90ies he went for a visit with my grandmother. I think it was very good for him, although I was unfortunately too young and shy at that time so I didn't talk a lot about it with him.

These points about the psychological base of pretend play are very interesting! I think writing stories is very similar. Let's just hope people can always keep apart the voice of the author from the voice of the characters ;)
I'm noticing already that I think about history in a very different way just because of my vague thoughts and research about this challenge. That's the advantage of pretend play and stories I guess (compared to learning about history in school).
I think your second post belongs to another thread ;) Is it missing somewhere now?
@JAL
Even modern day Germany is so confusing with all the different laws in the different federal states :lol: Even the education system is not the same everywhere. So going back in time in another language is a real challenge I guess.
Yesterday I read about women's education in Germany which was also very interesting. From what I saw the US was more progressive in this regard (allowing women at universities).
