@flauschtrud Honestly, the hardest part to play further in this challenge, beside the wars, were the 1980s. Even when I was born in that decade, it was so boring to play. The 1990s were more exciting to play then, that's were I was a teenager and I remember more of it. The game hadn't much children activities, I have played with same things again and again, until last year, so it was a rinse and repeat thing for over 100 years. I still missing bands and more music instruments, more real group activities, even in sport, although I hate sports in rl. :D
On the other side I think many simmers love to create and play evil chaos and love to play the darker side in a happy sunshine for children game. Many are happy when a new Death is included. I remember how happy Simmers were about the return of Death by flies or the murphy bed or he new Death by chicken or rabbit. We have mods which can't mention here, we have the simmers favorite 100 baby challenge. All they are all questionable in ethics or morals (depends on the country where you are living) but without them the game would be less interesting and wouldn't keep players so entertained for such a long time. It's like what's Agent Smith in the first Matrix movie said. In the first version everyone has a perfect life with no problems or sorrows, and it doesn't worked, people needed their misery. Or like we said in Germany: If you don't have any other problems, you create them. ?
