I think this would be some really cute animation for those who like this kind of stuff. I am HOPING that with the holidays coming that they will have an expansion out by then and this would include a free stuff pack full of holiday wonder! I think in the holiday stuff pack, we ought to be able to 'turn on' certain animations.......like have Santa come into the game.......be able to hear reindeer on the rooftop. Be able to have kiddo's stockings hanging on the fireplace and the whole nine. But most importantly, I wish that they would have Elf on the Shelf (only, because of copy rights and all, they could use some creativeness and call it something else). If you select Elf on the Shelf, he could hide everywhere and the kids who see him could get excited and jump up and down pointing at him. And he could have a "good" aura around him too. With this stuff pack though, I would LOVE to see actions like:
1. Hide gifts
2. Make milk and cookies for santa
3. Stay up late to watch for santa
4. Wake Mom and Dad
5. open gifts
6. Put up tree
7. Decorate house
8. set up toy train
9. Ask to sit on santa's lap
10. Write santa a letter
11. Sing christmas carols
12. Find gifts......those mischievous kids!!
13. Go ice skating
14. shop for gifts
15. Ask kid if they have been naughty or nice
16. Make hot chocolate
17. Send christmas cards
18. Make eggnog
19. Sneak into sibling's room.......my sis and I always did this before 6am and then we'd wait for Mom and Dad to get up
20. Read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas
Feel free to add to the list if you want to!! :)
Instead of Elf On The Shelf, have a Christmas gnome and call it Gnome In The Home. :p
Probably too late for this season, but a Holiday Stuff pack (like we had in Sims 2) could include a lot of those options. Others like the ice skating, could be in either Seasons or a vacation pack (I was thinking of a mountain resort as a vacation destination, where Sims stay in cabins and can do outdoor activities; if it comes out after Seasons and there's snow ice skating and skiing/snowboarding could be winter options).
I don't remember if it was in Sims 1 or Sims 2 but when Santa came he wouldn't show up until everyone in the house was asleep, and you left out the special plate of Christmas cookies. And he'd leave gifts for everyone -- sometimes good stuff like a TV, sometimes just a lump of coal.
Oh, and along with Find Gifts, there should be an option to Shake Gifts...with a random chance of hearing a "breaking" sound. B)
