I actually read up on this the other day, about medieval orphans and if they were adopted, and yes, she should adopt an orphan. Why don't you let chance take a hand in this and after the first one, roll to see how many more orphans she can adopt. From what I read, normally, the church would run an orphanage and establish rules for the home and adoption. Perhaps she could be like a "foster parent" first, with the parson of the church asking them if they could take in a child for a short time, as the orphanage had no room that night...something like that...you can build the storyline however you want. So my vote is yes.. go for it. Or the other solutions would be that there are children of their parents friends, and the children lost their parents to a fire...flood...etc...and they wondered if Elizabeth could shelter them until they found permanent homes for them. Instant family - various ages...with different traits...maybe a bad trait thrown in...
