What CAN be done to fix TS4?

Notification when Sims friend/s are starting the last day of their life (like in previous versions) ... also, Sims reacting to their friends death, even if they are not present when s/he dies (like sad phases in the first few days after the death, where they think of the deceased friend ... similar to TS 3)
