- Hello
You could use the park option, and place the required playground equipment in a basement.
If you use lounge, a bar tender will automatically come to tend a bar that you place for the wedding reception.
Museum though is a good lot type to choose for this type of build. - I find either lounge or nightclub usually works well for me. (I don't mind the bartender showing up!)

You can have a restaurant as the location for a social event, but simmers have found that sometimes there is a few issues that occur. - Thank you for the links, @rosemow ! You're awesome, as always! <3

Thanks, @rosemow ...I think if there are no tables upstairs, they could sit down and eat something they brought... in a restaurant if they had tables the other guests of the restaurant would be assigned to some probably. There is no way you could keep them all out anyway. Either way, it may be okay to leave it at type of layout and people can experiment or make changes as needed. I'm most interested in seeing if there are possibilities at all for that. If I made a 'cake table' perhaps I should not add a cake to it so that someone would be able to bring one and use the table?
Simmers who download the lot could use it in the way that best suits what is happening in their game, and whether they want to hold social events there or have it just as a restaurant. It would be best to leave the cake table empty before uploading the lot."rosemow;c-16864644" wrote:

That sounds good to me. I was just thinking that I'd like it to be set up so people had some options like that, even as a restaurant, in case they wanted it. I was also thinking that it was silly for me to list as a restaurant if there's no way for sims at the restaurant to use the upstairs for anything when the lot was a restaurant. I just have little to no experience on the 'throw an event' type of thing, and even if I do some experimenting it will be limited compared to others who've done it a lot. Does that make sense? Anyway, thank you so much for your input and feedback! It was very helpful to me."SheriGR;c-16864666" wrote:

It makes a lot of sense what you have said :)
You’re welcome :)- @rosemow @prettyprettyplumbob So... I am making a build that I'm going make a 'celebrity restaurant', but it also has an upstairs that I was hoping could be used for speakers, performances, and ballroom needs. Would the upstairs be of any use in a restaurant for anyone in need of any of these usages, or do I need to make a separate version of the restaurant that is a lounge to do that? There are tables, kitchen and all of the restaurant goodies downstairs. I hate - with a passion - doing social events (sims just always seem to act nutty for them), but I do run restaurants. Sims seem to behave themselves more expectedly there. I added the party trait to make it more helpful for that, but what do you all suggest build and usage-wise? I would like to at least make a version that is separate form the restaurant that will work for social gatherings (weddings, etc.) if nothing else. I know people like to do these gatherings and have venues for them, I'm just not sure what it the best way to go about this. I have never run a social event or called the social planner. So... what I am hoping to learn about is what would be needed and usable to have the social event planner or sim be able to book &/or use a venue. Is it possible for them to use a restaurant for the event?
