World/Neighborhood Traits

So we've all heard how Create a World is unlikely to return in The Sims 4, but I think an interesting alternative would be to assign traits to our worlds and neighborhoods, similarly to how personality traits and lot traits work. Perhaps we could set weather/climate-related traits, economic traits, social traits, etc.

For example, one neighborhood may attract tourists, while in others we'd only see local households roaming around. We could also set the greeting animations for Sims (shaking hands, waving, cheek kissing, etc.).

If anyone has other ideas for traits, post 'em here! :)
  • That is amazing idea!
    - rich neigh
    - neigh for famous people
    - crazy neigh (with a random events happening)
Idk right now, but amazing idea they should definately think about it!
  • Love the idea!

I wish that this is something that we could have in the game. For example, I have a celebrity Sims who is a style influencer. It's pretty much annoy me when I can see the trend almost everywhere. If we could limit the trend in certain area like the Fashion District (San Myushono) or at the Del Sol Valley, that could be awesome.

I like the greeting traits too. Or perhaps, the specific attire trait (like what we can control for the restaurant). It would be interesting if we can have the trait where everyone can dress accordingly too.
  • This would be a good way to make everyone happy on any number of polarising game features. Some just of the top of my head:

If sims from unplayed households sometimes become magic users or vampires autonomously.

If Vampires can mess with sims (played or unplayed) on home and/or communal lots by feeding or using their powers on them. This applies to aliens and mermaids as well.

    Including burglars in the game.

Tinkering with the seasons settings to make a world you like have weather that you prefer if they don't currently match up.

Setting a default mood to a world. Create a world of bad tempered sims, where building friendships and relationships is a rewarding challenge.

Any number of random autonomous sim behaviours that would add a bit of depth to the game.

@Mariefoxprice83 What mod is this please?

It's by LittleMsSam. I might have got it from Mod the Sims but I can't say for certain. In my mods file it's called LittleMsSam_DressCodeLotTrait.package
  • I know weather is already different per neighbourhood but it would be cool to add other traits

I think it would be lovely if we could assign different type of clothing, not just formal and naked, to different lots. The trait for the restaurant only works for customers though. I tried to hire a violin player to play in the restaurant and he showed up in shorts and a jeans jacket. It was supposed to be a fancy restaurant.

I use a mod for this - yesterday I sent a sim to the gym and assigned workout attire as the required category for the lot.
