[AA] [SD] Custom Venue: Give Massage not option for activity
In the recent YouTube short, it shows various possibilities for Custom Venues with various packs installed. One notable one was for a Spa that had workers front and center giving Massages on both tables and chairs yet this activity/interaction does not exist in the list of possible activities for the lot. There is “Do Spa Activities” but that would all sims both give and receive massages yet there is no separation of the two.
As you can see, there is definite separation between a Staff and a Grim Reaper Sim? And this being advertised as a Retreat, you would think there would be a Staff Role that could come and go at certain times to deliver such massages. But again, there is no “Give Massages” or “Tend Message Table/Chair” activity. Unrelated, but this is true for the Tattoo table as well.

You can create a Getaway at a Spa Venue and all the Spa Employees will show up to offer their services. Use the phone or the calendar to create a Getaway Schedule. You can make it a one time event or a repeating event.
I made a one day event. No overnight. If you want create a multi day event you'll need to add beds.
The Spa Retreat participants did use all the facilities. Except meditation, maybe because this was a brand new vanilla game and no one had any Wellness skills.
I just let my Sim do whatever. Everyone more or less followed the schedule.
If you want to own and run a Spa, using the Small Business system from Businesses & Hobbies might be a better bet.
Spa activities - like massage - on a Custom Venue seems to work best if you click on the massage table and hire a Sim. The hired Massage Therapist will pretty much stick to their job. Whether Sims you do not control will be pushed to get a massage is hit or miss.
But, if you just want a Spa Getaway... Create a Getaway at a Spa Venue. Save it. Use/Edit it and add it to your calendar whenever you like.
I think people are a conflating Custom Venues and Getaways.
Getaways can be pretty much anywhere. You can create a recurring Sunday Dinner Getaway at Gramma's house for the whole family. (I suggest that you not schedule any "cooking" or "eating." Instead have a played Sim start cooking and invite everyone to "join" and then "call to meal.")
Custom Venues use the same or a similar schedule, but the schedule is tied to that venue. Like Kids Camp.
There are a number of activities available in Custom Venue and Getaway schedules that don't quite work as expected. I hope they get tweaked.
