To me it seems like going to too much trouble just to get a couple sentences that probably anyone with creative writing background can come up with. I don't usually read these descriptions, maybe I should pay more attention to them. These seem fine to me, they have a tong in cheek feel to them and use puns, so I don't think they are AI generated. They were probably written by the same person in the same sitting so they came up with something similar sounding.
Trust me- the descriptions in this game, all of the sims games really, are amazing. They are worth reading- they are part of the content we pay for. There's entire stories worth of lore in some of them- many across every pack. Sometimes a pack has its own story across the item descriptions. Other times lore is built on for a decade across most packs. There's hints for future packs, references to other packs. There's lore from other entries in the series. There's so much fun humor and writing in these descriptions that date all the way back to day one of sims 1. There are pop culture references in these things (mostly in Sims 4) that are so niche and subtle only the biggest fans of something will even realize it.
And these...are an outlier. Truly. It's wild to me how bland and repetitive they are.
It's entirely possible someone new wrote them and just isn't good at it. But who knows.
It could well be that, without associated lore, there is not much to say about these objects, so they stick to description and how they can enhance your space.
I was not saying that sims object descriptions are always lore-focused. I was just elaborating that they are usually...written with care, and attention given to quality. These ones are not.
They don't need lore to be well written. Lore has nothing to do with the poor quality of these descriptions and the repetition.
