Auto Save Idea

I ran into an idea that may turn into/or has turned into an issue for some Simmers. That being the auto save feature. The feature doesn't seem to save as frequency has other games are allowed to. Other games I have auto save feature you can save every minute, five, ten, thirty, or an hour. Having that kind of an auto save feature could be KEY for many of us whom play hours on end, and are engross in the game and forget to save. That and I'm honestly not sure when Sims auto saves either.

  • The Sims 4 saves on loading screens like when travelling. On console at least, I haven't played Sims on PC since Sims 3. I wish it saved a little more frequently like previous versions, I try and keep remembering to save regularly especially as my console crashes a lot. I save before travel anyway just incase it doesn't autosave then.

If you don't mind using mods, MCCC has an auto save feature. I use it all the time. To many crashes after playing for hours and losing everything, for me not to use it.

I'm glad TS4 doesn't have an autosave. I have fixed countless problems with my game through the very simple method of exiting without saving and then loading again. It's often impossible to do that with games that use autosaves.

TS4 already asks whether you want to save whenever you Exit to Main Menu, Exit Game, switch households, or go to Manage Worlds, with Yes as the default. That's good enough for me.

I honestly wish The Sims Team would add an auto save feature. It would save countless number of people time and their sanity. Like I’m really surprised this not a feature with the hours of gameplay Sims4 gamers put into the game.
Also just an idea let the gamer set when the auto save happen. Example they 30 mins etc.

  • I played TS4 again for the first time in over 2 years, and I was reminded of how much I love this game, but how quickly I am cursing TS4 when my game crashes and rolls me back hours of gameplay.

Please can we get autosaves on PC at more regular intervals. I believe it autosaves when your sim travels, but mine hadn't for a long time, but had been going to work as part of the Get To Work pack. So I assumed that this would count and it would auto save between joining my sim at work and then going home, but clearly not.

Please can we get some kind of autosave function included in going to work and travelling between lots. I love this game and spend many hours on it and would really like to not be wishing I've wasted hours of my time.

    Thanks 🙂

I'm glad there is no autosave on PC because if my sim dies, then I can exit without saving, and continue as if that hilarious death never happened lol

@Sketch793 Is right, the only autosave with the pc version create is the start save.

I don’t mind an autosave function as long I can it toggle it off. I have a pretty good pc so my game normally only crash if EA released a patch which added the crash-feature.

I read often from user which play 1 hour and then the game crash, I think here would be an autosave all 30/45 minute good. I don’t want an autosave for each time I travel. Sometimes my sims travel over 5-6 each day. My loading screens are fast and an autosave function would slow down this.

  • I don't think TS4 really has an autosave feature on PC. I think the only time it autosaves is when you move the active household into a lot. Other than that, the game leaves it up to us to make saves.

Personally, I think that's a good thing. Sometimes I don't want any saves at all, sometimes I only want them about once a week, and other times I want them several times in one day. I appreciate having the freedom to make that decision myself.
