Balance and Happiness - what's the diff?

I know "balance" is under the simology tab.  But it just seems like basically another version of "happiness": meet your needs you're happy.  Don't meet your needs: you become the not happy.

Meet your needs, you're 'balanced'. Don't meet your needs: you become the not balanced.

What's the point of a 'balanced' metric?

  • I think both the Mystical and Disruptive traits play into balance as well, one makes it easier to have balance and the other makes it harder (but not incredibly weighing). That and luck/bad luck.

However, I noticed also once you stack a bunch of positive moodlets and needs are met balance is always in far green (even with bad luck). In a fresh game without moodlets stacked I did notice my Mystical Sim had an advantage and my Disruptive Sim was at a disadvantage (especially if on a bad luck day). But eventually it comes across no different that happy/needs met.

Edit: Mind you today this is the first I saw my Mystical Sim have this...

I don't think she has ever been "Very Imbalanced" and yet has all needs in the green and good luck. She got "Meanie Greenie" because of it.
